The first dude now taking over is a right wing nationalist but he also hasn’t had 12 years of power go to his head and from what I’ve read it seem he’s more focused on defense than expansionist offense. Basically doesn’t think a war with people directly on their border and pissing off Israeli allies is the best course of action. Nor delusional with thoughts people won’t turn on them if they go full “let’s kill civilians on purpose”
He has pre agreed to step down in two years and a more moderate party leader step in at that time if the coalition holds. As none of these parties in the coalition would have power alone.
More importantly, this coalition only has a parliamentary majority because an Arab party supports it (from outside the coalition) so basically if said Arab party withdraws support then the government collapses. While amusing, this is probably bad for future drama because it incentivises compromise in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Nah, the guy that replaced him is just as much of a hardliner if not even more so.

He's a hardliner but in a coalition with centrists and, more importantly, literal Palestinian Islamists

Not incredibly well versed in Israeli politics but that sounds like a coalition doomed to fail
