MY GOD I think I just uncovered a conspiracy within r/Drama's mods. They didn't drop pinging and make the sub go private because of GallowBoob, he was the decoy, they deliberately suppress the sub so it doesn't hit r/All and get flooded with normies. I can't believe I didn't figure this out earlier.

Why do discount airline sites like Reddit-sold-out Scott's Flights make up a story about cheap flights being factors like price glitches and low oil prices, when the airline's pricing algorithm and AI has nothing to do with that and is about understanding the willingness for someone to pay more/less
