I'm a straight guy who used to be friends with people like this. I know exactly what you're talking about. They killed my self-esteem for months. Cutting them out was one of the best desicions I've ever made.
If an adult mentions Harry Potter to me in a conversation that isn’t related to children’s literature I immediately lose respect for them. It was an entertaining read, sure, but these people treat it like it’s the Grapes of Wrath or 1984. It’s not that deep you childish fucks.
