While a Bangla literary organisation has presented a gamosa, created by joining parts of Assamese and Bengali gamosa designs, as symbol of harmony between the two communities, a large section of Assamese people see this as an insult to Assamese culture and deliberate distortion of the uniqueness of Assamese gamosa
Its a fricking towel. These r-slurred subhuman jungle chinks are kanging over a towel.
In contrast, BJP spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarma has demanded strict action for alleged violation of GI tag guidelines. “The Assam government should work to preserve the Assamese pride. Two pieces of cloth cannot be joined to display integration. Gamosa is made of the emotions of Assamese people. Nobody should play with it. I vehemently denounce this incident and urge everyone not to repeat it,” he said while speaking to India Today NE.
That's it I'm going to throw rocks at every chinki I see in Dilli from now on
While the ruling BJP remains split on this controversy, state unit of the Congress is fighting shy of taking a categorical stand on the issue. Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah appealed to maintain harmony between the two communities. “We should make Bengali people a part of Assamese society. Those who are staying in Assam must accept Assamese culture and we also need to accept them,” Borah said declining to get dragged into the gamosa debate. Meanwhile, Bengali Sahitya Sabha General Secretary Prasanta Chakraborty has claimed that the organisation’s intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiment. “We have done it to showcase our integration into the larger Assamese society. We started our programme by singing O mur Apunar Dekh, Assam’s state anthem. If someone is hurt we are feeling sorry. The rift between Assamese and Bengali is nothing new,” Chakraborty told India Today

Congratulations on the consecration ceremony of the #RamTemple in #Ayodhya. The place holds a great symbolic importance for Korea-India relations based on the matrimonial link between Queen #Sriratna (Heo Hwang-ok) from Ayodhya and King Kim Suro from Gaya(Korea) in 48 A.D. https://t.co/1dyUgb1XOg

Anchor asks him how he's sponsoring a population control bill having 4 kids himself. He says he was so busy with his work he didn't think as he continued to have kids. Anchor says but he's already had four so how can he stop others so he responds if the Opposition had brought the bill beforehand he wouldn't have had 4 kids.

Despite being an admirer of the great Indian subcontinent, I had never had Indian food. This is because my dad is not an adventurous eater and as such we tend to eat at the same places. Last night me and my mom ditched him and went to an Indian place near us. I’m a bit unsure of how authentic the food is and also I don’t remember the names of most of them.
We had an appetizer that was mushrooms and leeks mashed and fried with some spicy sauce on top. I thought it was pretty good but it didn’t really taste like much but the sauce on top. 5/10
We ordered two entrees. The first was this tomato chicken dish, the spices they put in it were weirdly floral to me and I really didn’t like it. I think it may have been better if we ordered it with some extra spice to tone down the floral taste in it 2/10
I ordered butter chicken which is one of the only Indian dishes I am aware of. I quite liked it honestly and ate most of it. Again I think it would have been better with some spice but I did enjoy it 8/10
I also had some naan and basmati and a mango rose water drink all of these were good but I don’t think they deserve a review tbh.
All in all I enjoyed my dinner and my first sampling of Indian cuisine. I wanted to get Biryani but I was sharing it with my mom who doesn’t like saffron so I didn’t get it. Also unfortunately my mom didn’t like any of the food so I’ll have to put my further ventures on hold until I move out. Still, there’s one thing scratched off my bucket list.

It is now 5 years since India had to face the dreaded ‘semengate’ which threatened the entire Hindu festival of Holi. Thankfully, we could still continue to celebrate the festival and no government or court-mandated ban on Holi could arrive because the entire semengate turned out to be false.
On the 1st of March in 2018, two students of Lady Sri Ram College said that they were targeted with semen-filled balloons at Amar Colony. The alleged ‘victim’ said, “The balloons that were thrown on us, had some kind of gooey material coming out of them. We took a written apology from the family of the girl. We need to change the mindset of people who say that ‘balloons phenkna toh holi khelne ka tareeka hai. No, it is not’.”
The ‘victim’ girls posted on Instagram about this attack
She claimed that the balloon which was thrown at her when she was in an autorickshaw. The content of the balloon dried white on her kurta, and the smell indicated it wasn't water. However, she concluded it was semen. As per reports, at least 3 girls were hit by 'semen filled balloons'. While the girl who wrote the Instagram post has not specified the gender of the person who threw the balloon at her, presumably another victim claimed the semen filled balloon was thrown at her by a girl and they have taken a written apology from the said girl.
As always, Indian liberal media jumped on the news without any verification and started vilifying the entire festival of Holi.
Without applying their minds and thinking about how can someone fill an entire balloon with semen, or how can one get that much semen in a balloon in the first place, mockery of Hindus and Holi began in liberal circles.
Some people tried to use science to explain how this is simply impossible that a balloon was filled with semen, but they were largely ignored.
Apart from social media outrage, the balloons were sent even to the forensic laboratory where scientists left serious crime investigations to investigate these balloons and voila, they could not find any semen in them, as anyone with any semblance of sense knew already.
While we do need strict action against hooliganism, action also should be taken against those who spread such false news without thinking about the consequences and repercussions.
