Not really. The price point is the same, and you're expected to tip if you use Uber and Lyft. Your ability to actually get a car depends on the whims of these scamming parasite drivers. When it first came out, I always used Uber/Lyft for rides to and from the airport. Now I don't even bother.

If the app provides no value, it's not like there are massive regulatory barriers to launching competitors these days. Uber did the hard work of clearing the path to legal operation, and they haven't gone onwards to regulatory capture IMO. Most competitors failed not because of red tape but for commercial reasons.

It's stupid because the vast majority of uber drivers did this as a side hustle so they didn't have to get cucked by their other jobs. This is just going to force many current uber drivers to be wagies to other jobs where they have way less control over when and how much they work. The whole "Great Resignation" was fueled by these new app based side hustles and it was good for the working class.
I'm betting the cute twink butt taxi lobby was responsible for this. They know this is gonna result in the Uber userbase being shrunk from both ends.

Nope, most drivers are still part time. Even the multiappmaxxers do so in bursts, not every week like regular wagies.
And the pakis, jeets, and somalis that do this 24/7 are liable to get screwed over once prices go up and the customer base dwindles. If Uber driving is so awful why don't these migrants take other full-time jobs with benefits like healthcare? It's because they either can't do the work or don't want to cuck themselves to working around strict schedules and bosses.
It's pretty ironic how these measures are going to hurt the people that they're intended to help in the first place.
