I unironically love Audible. 15 AUD a book isn't exactly cheap, but the average book is ~20 hours, and the narration on anything written in the past 25 years is usually very high quality. I've just finished Blood Song, which far exceeded my expectations, and started World War Z, which is on track to do the same.
As for hanging out here, what can I say? I like laughing at stupid people.

Hmm, I'm not exactly objective since I read the damn thing for the first time just about around release. Same with WMF. I feel like the hype that people have built around it would make any book overrated, regardless of how good it actually is. As for those books, I heartily enjoyed them, and still do. They're excellent, but not the biblically defining literature some people think apparently.

I listened to it solely on the basis of its >4.5 goodreads score. When I finished it, I went back and read some of those reviews.
The way people seem to react to it is fascinating. If you read some reviews of it, about 4/5 people will say something to the effect of "Okay, there are books and then there are BOOKS!!! This is the best thing ever. 5/5.", and then the 5th will be "Holy mother of Gary Stu, what the hell is all the fuss about?".
I am curious to find out whether Kvothe really is awesome and amazing at everything, or whether he was full of shit the whole time. I don't think I can fairly judge the book until we learn which it is.

You're buying into the myth that the US dominates global trade, and that retaliatory measures are impossible because they would hurt everyone else so much more.
You don't, and they won't. You account for about 13% of global trade by value. The E.U. has a bigger economy than the US, and it primarily exists to subsides German exports, so don't be so sure about them folding. As for China, they aren't a democracy. They don't care if such measures are unpopular in the short term, the Chinese government is ruthless when it comes to protecting their longer term interests.
