Isn't it weird that Captain America seemed to have no issues adjusting to seventy years of changes in society? I feel like he would have realistically at least been a little racist

Marvel completely ignored all kinds of hilarious shenanigans that I feel like would have realistically taken place if you had recruited a white dude from the 1940's and thrust him into the modern day. Imagine if they left him alone for five minutes and came back to find that he had a random SHIELD agent in a choke hold. Steve would have probably proudly exclaimed that he captured the Japanese spy when in reality it was just some intern that was actually Korean.

Also, keep in mind that it's entirely possible that Steve Rogers never saw a single titty in his entire life before he got thrown into the ice. You cannot sincerely tell me that suddenly being able to watch Sasha Grey get all of her holes stuffed in HD would not be a mind-altering experience for the boy.

You could have made a whole sitcom with this as the basis of the humor. Like, in this episode, Steve meets Black Widow and slaps her ass before telling her to fetch a cup of the coffee while the men talk. Or in the season finale, he isn't sure which is more shocking between us having a black president or the fact that he supports gay marriage, and also what gay marriage is. The thought of Samuel Jackson having to boss around some idiot learning which words are and are not considered slurs now would be amazing.

Marvel really pussed out by not taking the character in this direction.

The whole point of Captain America is that he’s the embodiment of what America should be and that includes treating everyone equally and with respect. He wasn’t racist back in the 1940s and he wouldn’t be now. It’s not a hard concept to grasp Lawlz. Then again you’re a lolcow.

he literally could have been Jesus Christ himself, that doesn't mean 70 years of social change would not be incredibly jarring for him lol. There would probably some things he would say that he wouldn't even think are racist that would be

What would he say from the 1940s that would be considered racist? He treats everyone the same regardless of skin color, so words that are racially charged aren’t in his vocabulary.

I don't know about Captain America but the Submariner was more on the Pacific Front and there are a lot of varied slurs against the Japanese in it.

This is my negro friend, Sam

-Steve Rodgers IRL

He’d say

This is my friend, Sam

There's these things called jokes

I have aspergers. Jokes don’t come easily.

Damn you're gone have a time here

I’m an approved poster.

Of course you are

We know

Says a lot about who they let in here

Welcome home, brother.

as retards should be

you also have to remember that Stan Lee and just about every other comic writer of the 60s were a bunch of Hippies with a capital 'H'. Main characters in fictional medias almost always are a reflection of the morals and beliefs of its creator/writer. Cap is in Marvel lore extremely pro-civil rights, and even was during WW2, and anti-Nixonian because his writers were to an umpteenth degree.

Imagine not worshipping Tricky Dick Milhaus

the public still cheers the name of that Crook Kennedy. Sadly our lord and savior will never receive the recognition he deserves

He lives on upon Roger Stone's back PBUH.

Captain America was written in the 40s though

He's got a weird background in that his backstory in the comics actually somewhat reflects his real-life story.

He was written in the 40s as US propoganda as you said, but after the end of WW2 there were no real stories to tell with the character, so he was shelved for nearly two decades, not having any stories until Marvel writers decided they wanted to bring him back in the 60s. The whole reason his background about being 'frozen during WW2 and returning in the Present Day' came into existence was to write a reasonable continuity about why he dissapeard from the world of serialized comics for so long.

40s version really had no discernible traits other than being 'generic supersoldier fighting The Enemy,' since he was made just to be a propoganda piece. His personality came into existence upon his revivial, thus why it reflects hippie morality of the 60s

Idk why they tend to do that tbh it's way more fun to make a side character your personal stand in. That way you can actually present your arguments and their counters without making it hamfisted and preachey.

Even Stan Lee didn't think he was a "writer", get it together

There would probably some things he would say that he wouldn't even think are racist that would be

why is it that your hot takes on fictional media are always so fucking retarded? like that shit where you complained about the existence of a wheelchair in some gay show that literally has dragons and shit (and the fact that wheelchairs existed since like the 16th fucking century)

my hot takes are the only reason you keep coming back here, admit it

i mean you're not wrong but you're still retarded and don't know enough about fiction and fiction writing to make such dumbass hot takes.

They made a big deal in an earlier season about Tyrion inventing some contraption for him to move around on horses.

Then season 8 came and boom, modern day wheelchair.

Hey buddy, did you see phedre's comment?

Strike while the iron is hot!

She wants you.

Not every white person is racist. Even in the 40s

[Wrong, in 1948, 74% of Americans opposed desegregating the Army([A 1948 poll found that only 26 percent of Americans favored “having Negro and white troops throughout the U.S. Armed Services live and work together.”]

you literally just proved yourself wrong by saying 26% weren't racist?????

Those people are all Italians, Jews, and Irish, who aren't technically white. Look up the Hajnal line, that's what truly distinguishes it.

In the movies, when he meets Falcon for the first time, there's a moment of racial tension that I'm not sure white people caught on to. "You must miss the good old days" It's very obliquely asking about if it's weird seeing black people as equals, but Chad Rodgers completely dodges it by saying polio being gone is pretty nice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaj52XvHC8Q for the entire scene

Are you implying that America shouldn't be furiously masturbating to Sasha Grey and loli hentai? Because if you are, that's problematic.

Sasha Grey

Fuck yes

loli hentai

Get out

loli hentai

Get out

True tho

Holy fuck are Yosamate_Onichans alt?

Sorry to disappoint.

Sasha Grey

what year is it

The SG is timeless, bro.

to this day i do not see her appeal other than she is an uninhibited skank.

oh wait there it is.

A lot of porn stars aren’t that hot, they just do literally everything on camera. I’m pretty sure even most nymphos would not bang 12 dudes at once while being recorded which is how Riley Reid gets her paychecks

Riley Reid

not milf-a-licious Ava Addams

you disgust me

Ava Addams

What are you fucking 12 and from New Jersey? Jesus Christ, I’m disgusted, I bet you jacked off while your mom was down stairs sipping wine and snorting Vicodin. You have to have a fucked up family life to think that skid mark looks like a milf.

you're weirdly, aggressively upset over someone's taste in porn.

have some milkers and calm down.

Your serious post in response to laws retardation is gay

You can't call someone else a lolcow while you rationalize capeshit

“Captain Rogers, President Obama wants to see you.”

“O’Bama? You’re telling me we elected a filthy Irishman to run the country?”

“...yes.”

Steve Rogers is Irish.

fuck off nerd

LOL

Cope

You should give respect when it is earned, otherwise it becomes meaningless.

Captain America was racist as fuck. He goes back to the mid-century to enjoy has Aryan wife and Jim Crow. Marvel is cancelled.

Polled in 1945, 91% of American soldiers said they would rather lose world War than end segregation.

can I get a link on that? If so that's unironically a fascinating stat

I got it from an a scanned book image that was going around on 4chan. I'll look for the image and get back to you. All the other polls on race relations for the time period show similar sentiments to this one, this one stands out because it was a poll of fighting age men that didn't dodge the draft, so there were almost no liberals or women in the sample group to water down that 91% pro-segregation number.

Welcome back. We need you now more than ever.

hawkeye and captain america say "nig fury" when nobody is around

Based

That’s ok though, cause that’s what Falcon and War Machine call him when they’re partying with Fury 🎉

Thor doesn't, but Tony Stark definitely does.

All they would have to do is throw in one or two lines like "Oh my lucky stars, a negro!"

MCU has exactly one legitimately good movie, Guardians of the Galaxy

imagine thinking r/drama is the place to grandstand about which capeshit you personally approve of.

the correct answer is none of them.

Better than cloak shit like Game of Potters

Imagine thinking r/drama is the place to gatekeep lol. Even if I was to become an lolcow in this thread your harsh tone would send me off to different pastures. Be gone with you!

thinking r/drama is the place to gatekeep

calling you a fag for caring about capeshit isn't gatekeeping, retard.

Says you. I personally am offended and will report you to our mods for verbal abuse

shit u got me

Day of Ultron is clearly the worst

it could've been the best one because Ultron is fucking awesome but they fucked it all up.

totally squandered the voice of Robert California.

I thought we were gonna get a legit terrifying comic Ultron taking over the world and driving The Avengers into hiding and shit and instead we got a floating island and like a couple hundred robots.

u take that back Ultron was a fucking lad

That movie is terrible, one of the worst in MCU. It's lolrandom humor. Id say some of the X-Men ones are tolerable but idk if that's mcu?

Lol MCU would never do anything as "risky" as the X-Men movies did

when I was a kid I liked the one where batman had nipples and robin was a 35 year old man

I still like that one, it's funny as hell

It’s Iron Man 1 intro section

You'd like Ultimates then. It's the one version of Captain America that did have those kinds of issues.

Also Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver made sweet tender love, did I mention that they are brother and sister?

Oh and Wolverine is gay for Colossus

While Ultimate X-Men definitely had it's issues I enjoyed it until Beast died. And I can't believe you didn't mention the Black Widow getting an Iron Man suit and then shooting Jarvis.

My knowledge of cape shit shames me. The best part was the stroke Tony gave her followed by beating her with a champagne bottle. Tony in his true glory.

Personally I preferred Hawkeye responding to his family getting killed by tearing his fingernails off and killing his kidnappers with them.

You all are pathetic

Do you have anything to say about rumors that phedre considers you her life partner

Every rumor regarding me and Phedre is true no matter how outlandish

As is foretold

He convinced me when he tricked Hydra.

Steve would have probably proudly exclaimed that he captured the Japanese spy when in reality it was just some intern that was actually Korean.

That's a mistake a recruit raised under today's political correctness would make. Back in the Captain's day they just trained the men in how to distinguish Asians.

fuck me did i just learn something from this sub

We might honestly get a show like that with Marvel's new Disney+ or whatever it's called. They might also do the reverse and show what it was like for Steve to go back to the 40s with his knowledge of the future which could also be pretty funny tbh

pretty funny tbh

the entire point of the movie with the timeline stuff means Captain America is literally a horrible monster who allows all the horrific events from WWII to 9/11 to happen just to get laid.

It will bE eXpLaInEd iN a LaTeR mOviE

This will never not be funny

Capedung is always full of holes

I just ad lib that stuff in myself.

Captain America had a n-slur pass, he was grandfathered in.

Thinking that everyone back then was racist is absolute peak zoomer nonsense. Your crop of tardchildren who've never seen a Frank Capra movie are gonna be what destroys this country.

Actually in the first avengers when the heli carry takes off, Steve gives Fury 5 bucks because he thought he was the butler

This had 88 comments and I had to ruin it lmao

lmao 11/10 I’d watch this

he would of had a mental breakdown and probably killed people tbqh

Heloo

You gotta remember that when Steve got thawed out we had a black president that did NOT support gay marriage.

why are you deleting my posts?

I’m not

hhhhmmmmmmmm

So you want like this or this?

Lol what the hell

It's from Nuzlocke's Avengers vs X-Men retelling
