This is why I'm convinced "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie" is the most based book ever written. It so perfectly captures the mindset of the average Redditor.
Finally, having everything they ever wanted. No job, no work, endless free money, everyone trapped inside same as they are. Someone else gets handed slightly more free money from a wealthy person and they begin seething again immediately demanding change.
What statistic? Recent data shows this virus can kill young people just as much as older demographics, especially those without underlying conditions. Coronavirous doesn't really spare anyone at this point.
lol nine people under the age of 15. 51 deaths under the age of 25.
I looked up the stats for Italy a while back and when over 21K had died, only 54 of them were under the age of 40. The media is having a ball getting clicks from dumb, fearful burgers.
The Faeroe Islands’ government has tested 16% of its population, more per capita than any territory in the world. They found 187 cases, quite significant when your population is only 50,000 people. So far, 185 of those cases have recovered. None of them have died.
But this is the end of the world. Stay at home. Forever.
Your mind is diseased. Pick a dandelion and hold it in your mouth until you feel the urge to urinate. Then, swallow the dandelion and urinate on the spot from which it was picked.
Summary : A rich Texan rewards a place serving him because he still can’t cook after plenty of time at home to learn and doesn’t care who serves him next time just as long as they are open.
Tips big to say thanks. Ownership and staff feel good. Rich Texan feels too groovy to realize any of this and thinks he’s helping a return to normalcy.
This is not a feel good story. This is how it all crashes and burns based on the word essential replacing expendable while people should be staying away from each other which is a restaurant impossibility.
I like restaurants and I used to own one but the slow-motion x100 ability of the general public to be evenly remotely responsible is getting to me and I’m not a political/alarmist type of person. I am a Texan though and I’m disappointed in how it’s played out here.
I work close to the general public. I pre-meeting go over the details of how it will safely happen with these people. In the end, the self-governing will save a lot of the stupid and I’m at the point of being frustrated that many of the stupid will survive.
I used to get frustrated as a kid when my dad would tell me that life wasn’t fair.

Listen, everyone HAS to stay on lockdown forever. Also the government needs to just send everyone checks, forever. I deserve to not work and just sit around and play Animal Crossing
Yes, this virus can kill young people, much in the same way that the flu occasionally takes a couple hundred young people every year.
Saying that young people without comorbidities are dying at the same or even comparable rates as old people is counter to, quite literally, every reputable study published on SARS-CoV-2. What recent data shows me is that the case to involuntarily commit every single r*dditor is stronger than ever.
Anecdotal evidence incoming: a couple psychiatrists I know have said that people with mood disorders, especially social anxiety disorder, have actually begun feeling better during the COVID-19 panic, because for the first time in their lives, the rest of society is as neurotic and unhappy as they themselves are. On some level, I think these people realize this, and don’t want the lockdown to ever end, because then they’d feel alone with their problems again.
Guess which kind of person is overrepresented on reddit dot com?

Every single post on that sub is just hundreds of chains of the exact 4 comments repeated over and over. I’m not convinced it’s not just entirely bots

That's not really different from any other mainstream subs?

That's why r*ddit is so adamant about staying home, this is their dream opportunity to live as a NEET with no repercussions.

Jonathan Haidt had it right with these people. Conclusion first, then justify it later with anything no matter how illogical.

that makes sense
If I had to live in lockdown forever, I would definitely find a tall building and jump off. Idk what kinds of sociopaths actually enjoy this

Same tbf. I consider myself a creepy introvert and I'm now losing my mind over the only contact being family and webcam chats.
