This series has a cool idea. You're stuck in a village that has monsters that only come out at night that can look like people you know but can't come inside. So if you're outside at night no one knows whether to let you in because maybe you're a monster, maybe you're not. That's some potentially fun drama.

But lol the rest of it is so bad. Like the whole thing was written by someone with a list of YA cliches and a RNG button

>split into 2 factions of regular people area and hippy area for no particular reason
>there's a whole 'choosing' ceremony to decide which team you're gonna support which they thought they needed to copypaste from the Hunger Games or something
>completely random contrived drama where the daughter of the newcomer family joins the hippies with no explanation
>creepy weirdo man character who everyone immediately hates despite him never actually doing anything wrong other than talk in a funny voice (and I guess is inevitably going to be the misunderstood baddie who's actually a goodie character)

Oh and the children of the newcomer family are such bad actors. The daughter can do panicky anxiety and that's about it. Actually it's kind of a funny thing. If you ever watch some low/no budget make a film with friends with no acting experience we can be like Tarantino what can go wrong kind of thing, they always have just a couple of acting styles. They have 'we're tough guys having an argument and doing epic putdowns on each other' and then there's that overacted panicky anxiety acting. For some reason those seem to be easy or fun for people to try to act but if you ever see one you know you're in for something horrible.

Anyway I'm only 4 episodes in and I'll probably keep watching it because it's a cool idea despite being crappy in so many other ways. And it's one of those where it's fun to rage to myself whenever they write something r-slurred into the plot.
