The October tournament is going to be Darkstalkers, it's being announced early because lets face it what the frick else are you going to run as a fighting game tournament on SPOOKY MONTH. Stuff to get ur FC setup will be on the bottom of this post. Wiki is linked if you want to learn about the game before we play, you got some time

As for the poll, because it's FUGGEN HALLOWEEN and we can expect people to be busy, we gonna run a poll in this post for what day works best for people to THROWDOWN in. Same setup as last time, Round Robin if we have less then 8 people with a finale between the top two (hopefully this time the stream isn't fricking r-slurred), if we have 8 it'll or more it's a double elimination bracket. This shouldn't need to be said but please only vote if you plan to participate in the tournament should we host it on that day.

For the tournament - BTW Kouryu is banned

In The Last Blade 1&2 all characters have 3 "modes" Power, Speed and Extreme.

Power is similar to Fatal Fury or Street Fighter, individual attacks and specials deal more damage and have powerful combos but are hard to chain due to often intense links, in this sense very technical. Power mode has access to Secret Slashes i.e. Super Combos, extremely powerful finishers.

Speed is similar to DarkStalkers, everything can chain naturally, and comes out faster but does less damage. Speed mode does not have access Slashes instead the meter fills up to a state of Limitless combo, which should be self-explanatory.

The secret mode, Extreme strikes a balance between Power and Speed at the cost of a significant amount of health, a glass cannon archetype. EX mode has access to both Secret Slashes and Speed Combos.

I really love this game.

Adding to this thread. You also can't press assist and attack at the same time. Nothing comes out.

Further, if you do a string with an assist pressed and try to cancel into special, it won't work most of the time. The inputs never change.

Johnny is very fun, but I'm still getting mind scrambled by the inputs a bit, tk Mist Finer, MFdash mid-combo, and MFC are all kinda hard

His dash seems like the make-or-break thing because he can't dashblock in a game where dashblock is almost required, he seems either very strong or close to bottom
