The other part is how much cultural clout has been lost by black americans. The internet and the expansion of media in general has exposed, for better AND for worse, aspects of the community that were outside of the usual media portrayals. You have hotep types like Tariq Nasheed, who released stuff that was hidden lore from within the African American community, stuff like buck breaking, being on the down low, etc. White guys realized that black guys were just as afraid of them sexually, if not more so, then they were of them. You have blerds of all kinds just wearing their hearts of their sleeves about how they hate being black on all the old message boards. The East Coast/West Coast rap feud doesn't exists outside the more closed in and curated 90's media when you can see old footage of Tupac being "zesty" as hell dancing ballet on youtube. All the old school rappers are straight up being exposed doing gay stuff these days, and worse, just being straight up dorks.

I remember one time at a bar they were playing that old 50 cent movie on the tv. Some white boys in snapbacks were watching and having a grand ol' time riffing to each about it. Terrence Howard's nude scene came up and they literally all stood up and clapped. For those white boys, Terrence Howard's small black doodle healed race relations more than the election of Barack Obama. It may sound ridiculous but so much of white male antipathy for black men was out of fear that once white women vagoos were blown out by the British Broadcasting Corporation supposedly lurking in their pants white men would be finished. Once racial violence and lynching were no longer on the table, white guys settled for being the Asian man's nword as a cope, essentially. Shit rolls down hill and all that.

But now, everyone saw Will Smith, once the most famous leading black man of all time, do his sad cuckold walk on stage and do a big gay slap on Chris Rock. The once unimpeachable black masculinity is now worn and cracked. They are just regular dudes now with the same embarrassing shit and insecurities as everyone else. When white guys are less afraid of black men, Asian men benefit.

Literally , this entire spiel about asian has revolved around the "myth" of BBC being disproven which has therefore made asian men be seen as more masculine. It's also saying that blacks have lost cultural clout, when in reality zoomers (especially Asian American zoomers) are more influenced by BIPOC culture than ever before, for better or for worse. The expansion of "blerd" culture didn't cause them to lose cultural clout, it only expanded it to non-hood groups. The asian hypebeast who talks in BIPOC lingo is a giant meme at this point. I genuinely don't get how someone could come up with this take, it's completely fucking wrong.

Asian cultural influence is still pretty weak. Still mostly comes from anime, but that was already popular 15 years ago.

It was possible 5-10 years ago that Kpop / Kdramas would become more influential, but that doesn't seem to have made deep inroads.

The current push is Chinese social media being popular with zoomers, that is a channel for influence although it's kind of unclear how that is working.
