I posted this back when /r/drama hadn't been completely cucked by the admins, but it had a lot of info and names redacted because of the potential dox. It's almost 4 years later now and probably nobody gives a shit anymore, so here it is again.

Our story begins in 2016 when guncel poweruser Topgunebay gives Kilo Guns, an Arizona gun shop, two incredibly rare Russian parts kits, one for Kilo Guns to assemble as a pistol and the other for Kilo to keep as payment for finishing the first kit. To Topgunebay's surprise, instead of fulfilling his obligation, Kilo Guns takes the kit he was supposed to assemble into semi-automatic pistol and turns it into a machine gun instead. That's a problem, because as a private citizen without a dealer/manufacturer license, there's no way that Topgunebay can ever take possession of the gun back in its current form. According to the ATF, once a machine gun, always a machine gun, so it can only ever be in the possession of law enforcement, other licensed dealers/manufacturers, or it can be destroyed. Over the course of two years, Topgunebay hounds Kilo Guns to get his shit back to no avail, while Kilo whores off his stolen Vityaz on Instagram.

Finally in December 2018, Topgunebay has had enough, posting a long butt tirade about the ordeal to /r/AK47and copy pasting it to Yelp, TheAKForum, and some fricking website I've never heard of called Birdeye. Most people's reaction is "That's fricked up, but why are you bitching about it on the Internet and not getting the authorities involved?"

Turns out, there's no way that Topgunebay could have legally acquired those parts kits in the first place. The US has importation bans against countries like China and Russia. The only way to legally get Russian or Chinese military parts kits is if the guns have been sitting in a "neutral" country for at least 20 years. The stolen parts kit was for a Russian PP-19 Vityaz which didn't even exist until 2004. 2016 - 2004, you do the math.

>Kilo is one of the shadiest cats out there. Too many complain, but no one takes action. It's heartbreaking reading stories like this over and over. Call the Dog Tax Assessors Union and put a federal boot up his butt, ankle deep. He's earned it.

OP could also get the federal boot up his butt since the kit was illegally imported in the first place, lol

Explain how the parts kit was illegal.

It was imported from Russia without the proper paperwork which is a federal crime. Even worse, it was probably imported after the sanctions which means not only was it illegally imported, but it violated the Treasury department's sanctions, another federal crime.

It's not something I would publicly call attention to owning like this...

\

>You should maybe be cool and delete that.

Why? Everyone is telling him to call the ATF which I am saying could very easily end up costing him everything he owns plus a prison sentence. I'm the only one being sensible here...

The ATF is NOT stupid. The presence of a modern production Russian SMG parts kit will throw up red flags if OP reports this incident. The biggest violation here isn't keeping the parts kit beyond the scheduled delivery date, it's importing it illegally in the first place.

In short, Topgunebay is fricked because involving the feds would draw attention to his other questionably legal activities, like importing gun parts and military surplus from Russia without the proper clearance.

https://old.reddit.com/r/ak47/comments/a5kizx/kilo_guns_llc_is_a_liar_a_thief_he_is_in/ebnuzxv/?sort=controversial

"hi yes, ATF? I illegally imported a Vityaz kit and then it was stolen from me, can you get it back?"

Or...orrr here is a solition. Drop an anonymous tip to the ATF saying he has the illegal kits. It hurts to lose them but at least you get to royal frick this guy over in the best way imaginable.

At which point Kilo Guns says to the ATF agent "Oh yeah, I got it from this guy who has a long history, that's publicly available on the internet, of importing gun parts, magazines, etc that are banned. Here's all of our text messages, email exchanges and his address."

You beat me to it, this is what I was going to post next. Kilo has a lot of leverage over OP because of OP's lengthy history of bringing in high dollar illegal firearms parts. It's all right here out in the open. OP has drawn lots of attention to himself by posting about this dispute on multiple forums.

And if OP ends up attracting the wrong attention, it might behoove members of the community to think about what PMs and emails they have exchanged with him to discuss trading, buying and selling things.

And then Grynchmob_Gerry who apparently has a bone to pick uses this opportunity to shit talk all the shady shit Topgunebay has done over the years within the AK community, including the aforementioned importation and tax evasion, price gouging and apparently being solely responsible for cutting off the flow of military goods into the US civilian market by fricking over his Russian contacts. Don't worry though, in 3 years, the Russians themselves would nail the coffin shut on the Russian export market for good.

https://old.reddit.com/r/ak47/comments/a5kizx/kilo_guns_llc_is_a_liar_a_thief_he_is_in/ebolvu0/?sort=controversial

https://old.reddit.com/r/ak47/comments/a5kizx/kilo_guns_llc_is_a_liar_a_thief_he_is_in/ebomg3e/?context=10000&sort=controversial

So, what the frick ever ended up happening? Well, probably nothing. In February 2019, Topgunebay posted a photo of the Vityaz in rifle form on r/Guns so he must have gotten it back somehow. Kilo's only comment on the situation was this December 2018 Instagram post where he tells people "don't believe the haters, fam."

Kilo Guns is still in business and posting on social media as of May 2022. ATF and State Department clearly don't seem to care about doing their jobs because the newer AK-12 rifles have been popping up in the hands of American GunTubers in the last year.

As for Topgunebay, I asked around on gun boards and chat channels and the consensus seems to be

>He never shut the frick up about the Vityaz incident and everyone got tired of hearing him b-word about it. Eventually, he got himself banned or self-exiled from most of the popular AK/Combloc communities and no one really seems to care about him anymore.

A cursory glance at his reddit profile seems to confirm, as he mostly sticks to Austin related subs and his gun related posts don't get much engagement, though he still does stupid shit like publicly talk about drug use on the same account he posts pictures of his gun collection on.

I'll make this an effort post since I know you zoomies know nothing about the Internet or gaming before 2015.

Dyack in the middle

Silicon Knights

Silicon Knights was a Canadian developer who made a few decent games, like Legacy of Kain and the Gamecube remake of Metal Gear Solid. They're mainly remembered for the classic Gamecube horror game Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, which is quite good for its time and is notable for being the only rated-M game ever published directly by Nintendo. They were lead by a guy named Dennis Dyack, a whiny manchild who doomed his company to fail.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17160736834574673.webp

Zoomers: This was considered scary in 2002

To give you an idea of their management, here's an image of games in production, games that were cancelled or abandoned before release are marked in yellow. Note the staggering ratio of unreleased/released games:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1716073077634633.webp

Anyways, Dyack's passion project for decades had always been a game called Too Human, but every effort to make it had been abortive. After the successes of Eternal Darkness and MGS, Dyack decides the Wii doesn't have shiny enough graphics and makes the bold choice to unshackle his company from a lucrative position as a Nintendo third party so he can truly fulfill his vision on the superior XBawx Please Fix Me. Silicon Knights shacks up with Microsoft and Epic Games and produce an E3 demo (zoomers: people used to go to an annual convention for video game trailers) which is received overwhelmingly negatively.

Dyack is NOT HAPPY and goes on the IGN forums to whine about how the critics will regret their words and deeds:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1716073079091966.webp

Unedited clip from Too Human

NeoGAF

Once upon a time there was a gayming website called Gaming Age, with their forum called the Gaming Age Forum (or GAF). Eventually Gaming Age imploded, but the top two jannies (Evillore and Bishoptl) were able to move their community to a new forum, appropriately called NeoGAF. You wouldn't know it these days with GAF being a shambling corpse and its spinoff ResetERA being what it is, but pre-G*merGate GAF was chill and a place where industry figures would show up and sperg out while everyone laughed at them.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17160747102157066.webp

Dennis Dyack makes a bet :marseygambling:

Once such figure was our hero, Dyack. With his new slop getting trashed by GAFfers, he makes a thread to bet on how it'll turn out:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17160730781357527.webp

Right now the man just appears confident in his project. But his next post is a bit more... unhinged, and seems to be setting the bar rather low by making alreay-forgotten games Lair and Haze the standard to beat:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1716073078449541.webp

He then goes for an interview on 1up (Zoomers: Now-defunct gaming journo site) and whined about how people saying mean things online is ruining America and how if the NeoGAF mods don't start respecting Denis Dyack and Too Human he's going to call the Internet Police and shut them down!

https://i.rdrama.net/images/171607307873769.webp

Dyack then does another interview where he declares that not only is NeoGAF the worst forum in the world, but forums in general are evil and this is why the US military no longer uses writing:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17160730802537434.webp

Too Human comes out and scores lower than Haze. In classic GAF fashion the top janny punishes Dyack for losing the bet by writing lots of words and then perma-banning him. Dyack copes by saying g*mers are too stupid to understand his genius.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17160730803907359.webp

By this point the capital-G G*mers are pissed at Dyack in a way that prefigures G*merGate in a way. Seething articles are written speculating that angering the G*mers has resulted in him not just being banned from NeoGAF, but divorced from his wife, kicked out of the house, abandoned by his employees, his car towed, banned from every website ever, banned from the city of Niagara and tossed over the waterfall.

He messed with g*mers. G*mers.

The Saga Ends

Denis Dyack has brought Silicon Knights from one of the more respected devs in the industry to basically a joke. Following the failure of Too Human Dyack blamed the Unreal Engine and Epic Games and made the genius decision to sue them. This didn't go their way and by 2012 they owed Epic millions of dollars, had less than five employees, and were legally obligated to destroy all of their unsold games and source code.

In the meantime they had six more projects (including two sequels for Too Human) which were cancelled before they finally released another game, the absolutely awful X-Men Destiny, which turns out to be their last. In desperation, Dyack crawls back to Nintendo and pitches a sequel to their last hit, Eternal Darkness. NeoGAF insider reveals that Nintendo is agreeable until SK loses the lawsuit against Epic, and they decide they'd rather not fork over $10 million in legal fees so SK can survive, which Dyack denied. Former SK staff reveal that this was the case and part of the reason the X-Men game sucked was because Dyack was taking money given by Activision for that game and instead putting it toward Eternal Darkness II.

Years later Dyack attempts to kickstart his own Eternal Darkness successor and makes $300,000 out of the $700,000 target. He has yet to make another game. The end!

EFFORTPOST The Definitive Bipolar Post

As you probably know by now, I'm a sick, sick man. I am diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder along with OCD. This has affected my life negatively, but I'm still alive which more than many can say. Today, I'm going to explain the ins and outs of Bipolar Disorder. I hope you enjoy the short read.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17151278938961403.webp

What is Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder characterised by mood swings. In other words, the sufferer may have periods of great euphoria followed by an irrational manic-depressive episode. During the upswing, a Bipolar patient will experience the following:

  • euphoria

  • high motivation

  • irritability

  • risky behaviour

  • heightened sexual activity

I am currently in an upswing and I have very little need for sleep. Five hours or less is enough for now, which is partially why I have time for this shit. I also feel highly productive and cannot stop myself from producing something. I wish I was a genius so I could channel this energy into something other than rdrama posts that 12 people will upvote and cause 3 people to block me. After the upswing comes the downswing which consists of depression, suicidal thoughts, a lack of motivation, and self-harm. How much self-harm? It is estimated that 30-40% of folks with Bipolar Disorder will engage in self-harming behaviour. Upswings and downswings are usually not congruent with what is going on in the person's life. For example, someone with a good life may find themselves in a downswing while others may experience a euphoric downswing as they ruin their life.

Quick notes from Holly!

Holly says to take benzos, avoid sleep, play The Last of Us Part 2, and listen to Cocaine 80s. In between these activities, make shitposts on rdrama.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17151278940866878.webp

How quickly do these mood swings occur? Well, it depends on what kind of Bipolar disorder one suffers from. With Bipolar I and II, each upswing and downswing can last weeks to months. However, there exists rapid cyclic bipolar which is typically characterised as a series of 4 or more upswings or downswings occurring within a 12-month period. Symptoms typically begin to manifest in one's early twenties, though signs may appear during teen years or it could onset in one's late twenties.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17151278942302303.webp

Difference between Bipolar I and Bipolar II

Though Bipolar I and II share many similarities, there are some key differences. Most notably, one can only be diagnosed with Bipolar I if they experience a manic episode. A manic episode is characterized by psychotic symptoms such as visual and audio hallucinations. Other symptoms include:

  • racing thoughts

  • disinhibited social behaviour

  • hypersexuality

  • feelings of grandiosity

  • pressured speech

For example, someone may feel that they are receiving messages from God, hear divine voices calling their name, believe they can change the world, or are on a special mission. With the propensity for risky behaviour comes increased drug use and risky sexual behaviour. Such individuals typically end up requiring involuntary institutionalization, and they demonstrate decreased activity in the lingual gyrus region of the brain and decreased activity in the inferior frontal cortex. In contrast, Bipolar II patients suffer from hypomania which is more subdued and less likely to ruin someone's life, but is nonetheless still highly disruptive. They do not experience the psychotic aspects of mania and do not usually require hospitalization during a hypomanic episode.

What goes up must come down. When the mania or hypomania is up, we get to the depressive stage. This is usually a period filled with great regret, melancholy, and a downswing in one's mood. This period is usually longer than the hypomanic or manic phase and this is when the self-harm and suicidal ideation slips in. Activities that were once enjoyed now feel dull, and constant sleep is common. During one of my downswings this year, I had to be hospitalized after severe self-harming.

But wait! There's a third option! Some people suffer from mixed affective state. This is when a person experiences an upswing and downswing simultaneously. This is common in patients with rapid cyclic bipolar where the mood swings occur so quickly, they don't have time to resolve.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1715127894460059.webp

What causes Bipolar Disorder

It is currently not known precisely what causes Bipolar Disorder though it is estimated that it is 70-90% genetic with a minimal environment factor. For example, an abusive childhood can aggravate the condition or a significant life event such as the loss of a loved one.

Scientists have zoned in on variants within the genes CACNA1C, ODZ4, and NCAN, and polymorphisms in BDNF, DRD4, DAO, and TPH1. The end-result is dysregulation in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex portion of the brain.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17151278945630217.webp

Treatment of Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is treated through a combination of therapy and medication. Currently, I am on lithium (a controversial mood stabilizer) and Abilify (an antipsychotic). Previously I have also been on sodium valproate and serdep. And of course, I have been given a plethora of benzodiazepines. Typical therapy methods include CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy).

It is difficult to treat Bipolar disorder because those with the illness are often in denial about it and resistant to treatment. This is especially true during manic episodes. Hence, more than 75% of individuals with BD inconsistently take their medications for various reasons.

EFFORTPOST Come Dine With Me's Biggest Loser - body shaming and misandry

Every day, we are exposed to various forms of media. People are attempting to manipulate us, influence us, and encourage us to perform certain actions (usually spend money). Without media literacy, you are doomed to a life of being bamboozled, tricked, and fooled all day.

Have you ever been falsely accused? Misrepresented? Besmirched? you know how painfully frustrating it can be. Well, one man has faced this, and I don't think his name will ever be cleared.

Come Dine With Me

Come Dine With Me is a British show which has four contestants serving dinner at their home. The best host(ess) wins prize money. Most of the entertainment comes from seeing the homes of different people, and the ways they attempt to entertain others. Commentary is provided by Dave Lamb, who can be quite hilarious at times.

The show has been a success and it has since been sold to other countries, and spin-offs have been produced, including Celebrity Come Dine With Me and Couples Come Dine With Me. Today, we'll be looking at a 2016 episode which has been commonly used as an example of being a sore loser.

The guests

This episode takes place in East Oxfordshire. These are the contestants:

>Charlotte Hughes - She's the youngest contestant. Very bubbly, optimistic, and down-to-earth.

>Adam Mastroani - He is an American student who is nerdy.

>Jane Smith - She's a policewoman. She admits she likes offending and shocking.

>Peter Marsh - Peter is a salesman, quite portly, and someone who cares about class

For the remainder of the article, I'll be referring to this video which contains the full episode.

Out come the knives - Evening 1

In many ways, women are oppressed in society. They have to face sexism in the workplace, they are dominated in the home, and many religions posit women as lesser beings. Despite this, men are also mistreated in many ways. Most notably, men are subjected to body standards, and they are harshly judged for not conforming.

Let's take weight for instance. It is far more socially acceptable to insult a man's weight than the opposite is. I believe this is why Jane, on the first night, starts off by insulting Peter quite harshly. She says the only thing he is good at is a pie-eating contest. Note that this comes after he shows some vulnerability by making a joke about his own weight. This moment occurs at 8:20

For the most part, Peter takes it in stride, then she flat-out calls him fat while patting his corpulent belly. This is shocking because she is fat as well. Nevertheless, Peter does not retaliate.

Out come the knives - Evening 2

The second evening is at Adam's house. The meal is pretty terrible, but Peter lets slip that he would like to be Prime Minister. Jane immediately shuts him down, letting him know that his dream is foolish. Is his dream realistic? Probably not. But there's no need to be a huge butthole when someone shares their dreams at a dinner table. At this point, it is evident that Jane doesn't think much of Peter. Once again, Peter takes it in stride, but he's annoyed.

Out come the knives - Evening 3

The third evening, we see Peter strike back. This is the point where I also get highly annoyed. They are talking about their lookalikes, and Peter says Jane looks like Victoria Beckham. This occurs at 33:00 Obviously an insult, and everyone immediately jumps to Jane's defence! To recap, at this point Jane has said:

>you can only win a pie eating contest

>you're fat

>your dreams are shit

And he dares make one snarky comment and suddenly he's a rude c*nt?! People are way too sensitive to women getting insulted, without realizing men don't like it either when we're called fat.

Out come the knives - Evening 4

Things hit a climax on our final evening and this is where the iconic meme moments come from. Everyone is sitting at a table for dinner at Pete's house. They begin talking about their impression of each other, and everyone is polite until we come to Jane. She just lets it rip on him, tearing apart his entire personality. This moment occurs at 45:00She says:

>your confidence is undeserved

>calls him pompous

He retorts by calling her a fat troll, and low and behold this is the point where people say it's gone too far! She was allowed to sit in this man's home and insult him to his face non-stop, but god forbid he calls a woman fat! Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. All the other guests are so sympathetic to Jane, who is not receiving anything she hasn't dished first.

At the end of the meal its time to pick a winner. Peter comes last, and in the commentary, the guests say that the sour mood ruined the evening. So good job Jane for fricking up this man's evening. Peter finally pops his top and tells Jane she "has all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tires on". Charlotte also gets insulted and quite honestly she deserves it because she never comments on the cruelty Peter faces yet jumps to defend fat Jane.

Since the show Peter and his husband have spoken to the Mirror and stated that "What's shown is not all that happens and people will believe what they're shown." I believe you Peter, I really do. The Mirror adds:

>He'd had "hundreds" of people contact him on Twitter which is why he has now locked his account and doesn't want to "fuel the fire" by commenting further.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/come-dine-mes-peter-marsh-7120097

To conclude, this double standard is what makes women in the workplace problematic. If ever conflict should arise, all a woman has to do is cry or feel sad and she's won. Any retort on your part will be magnified because you're attacking an innocent girl. There is no woman alive who has never pulled the "I'm just a girl" card, from CEOs to cashiers trying to get out of a speeding ticket. No woman is innocent.

Next time we will discuss the morality of JiDion. The woman posted here is named Sava Schultz. She has a black boyfriend.

EFFORTPOST What's the difference between a school and a bar? Nothing according to these folks!

Drunk at school!

School is a sacred place. It is where our youth go to prepare themselves for adult life. Children are our future, so those entrusted to care for them should take utmost care to nurture their delicate minds. There are some uncouth individuals who have opted to abuse their position of authority - molestors and bullies, for example. The people we'll discuss today aren't particularly malicious. In fact, you could argue they're severely ill. Nevertheless, it will be evident that they should never be entrusted to children ever again.

The drunk school bus drivers

Did you know that 31% of all traffic fatalities in the USA involve alcohol?! One in five child deaths in traffic will involve alcohol too. Despite this, people regularly overestimate their ability to drive impaired, resulting in fatal events. One of the problems is that alcohol raises your confidence, leaving you incapable of determining just how impaired you truly are. Furthermore, you overestimate how much you've recovered. It's a recipe for disaster.

Have you ever driven drunk? Be honest. Regardless of your answer, I'd hope you weren't ferrying children during your intoxicated joyride.

1. Mark McNeill

Mark McNeill is an old man who drove the school bus for Buddy Taylor Middle School. McNeill was arrested when his co-workers smelled alcohol on his breath. It is evident that McNeill is an alcoholic, because he arrived in court wasted! This man first denied it, but when pressed by the judge, eventually admitted it.

When it was all said and done, he received the following sentence:

>The judge sentenced him to the 18 months in state prison on the neglect charge; nine months for the elevated blood alcohol level; and 31 days time-served on the charge of resisting arrest

https://www.news-journalonline.com/story/news/courts/2022/07/11/man-who-drove-flagler-school-bus-while-drunk-gets-18-months-prison/10027320002

How do you feel?

Mark McNeill

Got behind the wheel

Made the kids squeal

2. Catherine Maccerone

This one is a bit funnier. Catherine Maccerone got behind the wheel absolutely plastered. She is seen talking to an empty bus, and when there are kids, they are screaming the entire time! Her joyride is brought to a halt when a fifth grader called 911.

Surprisingly, she only got 5 years probation which is insane in my opinion. She was driving a bus full of children and she only got probation? It should be attempted murder for every child in the bus. Also, there's this gem:

>She's one of two area bus drivers arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

https://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/2019/11/longview-bus-driver-accused-of-dui-gets-5-years-of-probation-counseling.html

Are bus drivers just regularly shitfaced?

The drunk teachers

What's the worst thing a teacher was ever caught doing at your school? These teachers got drunk on the job and it's hilarious.

1. Kimberly Coates

Ted Bundy once said "You learn what you need to kill and take care of the details. It's like changing a tire... the 1st time you're careful... by the 30th time you can't remember where you left the lug wrench". This is certainly the case with Kimberly Coates.

You've probably seen this one. Teacher arrives on the first week of school visibly drunk. She is taken to a private office where police give her a breathalizer and she is found to be drunk. The headmaster also goes to her classroom and finds a cup with wine stains in it. At that point it became evident that this was a habitual thing for her. How many times do you think she's gotten drunk at school and gotten away with it? 50? 100? Has it been years? She was probably very good at covering her tracks at first and maintaining her buzz at first. Unfortunately, she got too comfortable, began to feel like she'd mastered it and she'd never get caught... that's when the sloppiness sunk in.

What I find interesting is that she keeps denying that she drank at school specifically despite there being obvious evidence that not only does she drink at school, but she has done so prior, as is evident by the cup which she tries to erase of evidence. That there is the brain of an addict and if you've ever been around one you'll notice it immediately. She is just lying on instinct at that point because it's so routine to cover up that specific thing. Her brain absolutely cannot admit to it, it's too locked into the cover-up and lie pattern. She cannot even admit it to herself, or else her own delusion would crash and she'd realise that despite what she believes, she is absolutely not a functional alcoholic, for no such thing exists.

You see that moment right here:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1694975304835616.webp

No ma'am, you were never doing a good job. You cannot be drunk and do a good job as a teacher. You were always deluding yourself. You need love and help, and you need a new occupation. She absolutely did not want to call her husband. Why do you think that is so? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

2. Jennifer Davis

Davis is a far less interesting case. She lies through her teeth, much like Coates, but she is far more subdued. She seems to have accepted that she is an alcoholic. Nevertheless, she also has to prop up at least one lie to save her dignity - "I never drank at school. Not around the children.". The breathalyzer suggests she did drink at school, or if not, she drove to school drunk. Once again, this is probably a case of her getting sloppy and drinking too much this day. Although she is relatively accepting of her wrongdoing, the fact of drinking on the premises is just a bridge too vast for her to cross.

We've all seen cases of "the crime outsizing the man". People do things that seems beyond them, and even they cannot come to terms with what they have done. Davis probably went into teaching with sincere intentions. She does believe in the sanctity of school. But alcoholism has sullied that, and it has driven her to do something she cannot even admit to. She besmirched her profession, the thing she dedicated her life to, and she has betrayed the trust of all those parents.

Davis got really nice treatment. It's nice, but it would be better if cops treated everyone that way and not just the sweet lady. That's it for today. Thanks for coming by! Tune in next time when we discuss and morally analyze JiDion. When does trolling go too far?

What's this now?! We have a bonus entry!

The Carrollton bus crash

The Carrollton bus crash is the deadliest drunk driving collision in US history. On May 14, 1988, a youth group boarded a school bus and headed to Kings Island theme park. On their way home, they collided with Larry Mahoney who was over two times the legal limit. The bus caught on fire, causing the death of 27 of the 67 people on the bus. The youngest victim was 10. Mahoney only served nine years in prison, but his case led to sweeping changes in drunk driving laws.

The survivors are horrifically disfigured, and you can watch their interviews!

EFFORTPOST Healthy strategies to cope with inceldom

What are some healthy ways to cope with inceldom? I'd like to hear your suggestions.

1. Avoid going to busy places

I'm not saying to be a complete hermit. However, going to malls, beaches, etc and seeing young couples is guaranteed to make you depressed. Why do that to yourself? When you go outside, opt for hiking trails, small stores, and other places where you are unlikely to see couples.

2. Avoid triggering media

Related to the above point, avoid music about love, romance movies, and youtuber couples. It will make you extremely depressed. You can create a media palette that is pretty non-triggering if you work on it. Anime is a good start, as it covers broad topics. Rap/Hip-hop can also be good if you find the right artists (tread carefully however, it can be pretty depressing to hear rappers talking about how easy they have it with women).

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16913299985879974.webp

3. Imaginary gf

Having an imaginary gf is a wet plaster on a wound. It won't take the pain away, but it will make you feel better. The more you do it, the more vivid the fantasy becomes as your imaginary gf's personality fleshes out and you share experiences together. Turn to your imaginary gf when you're lonely or just need someone to talk to.

An imaginary gf will also be a good outlet for romantic impulses you have. Ever fantasized about proposing to your gf in a hot air balloon? Do it with your imaginary gf! Wish you could have a date night at home with your love? You can do it with your imaginary gf! Order some food, set up the table and light up the candles. I've had great fun playing board games with my imaginary gf, and it's a great way to spend a Friday night.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16913299992590265.webp

4. Warm showers

Warm water on your skin will help suppress the pain that comes from touch starvation. Don't be afraid to treat yourself to long warm showers. They are especially effective just before bed, as that tends to be the time when the loneliness really kicks in.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1691330000154874.webp

5. Stop pining

If you're an incel, it is inevitable that you will develop a burning crush on any female that talks to you. Acquantainces, cashiers, and customer service attendants on the phone will become the object of your affection. Girls from high school you haven't seen in years will suddenly become your soulmate and you'll be tempted to hunt them down online. Don't do it.

Your perception is distorted by loneliness and s*x deprivation. No, that girl that occasionally chats with you online does not have a crush on you. No, messaging an old classmate on Facebook will not work out. Absolutely nothing good will come from an incel expressing romantic feelings to a female friend. If you have any female friends, cherish them and don't ruin it with your horniness.

Stop pining. Stop fantasizing about a future with real human beings. This will only make things more painful in the future when you have to accept you can't have them, when you see them date others, or when they set boundaries and remind you that you are nothing more than a friend. Stick to imaginary gfs.

6. Get your money up

I have failed dismally at this, but I am trying to change things. The SINK (single income, no kids) life can be a good one. You can splurge on video games, travel, have amazing experiences (skydiving, submarine rides), and more. You can begin saving to ensure you have a comfy retirement. If you do have money, here are good subs to start browsing:

/r/FIRE

/r/childfree

I am unfortunately poor. There are so many awesome video game gadgets I wish I could buy and hobbies I wish I could get into but I am financially incapable of doing this, which makes inceldom even more painful. Get money, and you'll gain access to the best copes.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16913300039211698.webp

7. Don't lose religion

For the love of god (kek) don't lose your religion if you're not atheist. If you're religious, devote yourself to your religion and find solace in that. God, my life would be so much simpler if I could go back to my Christian childhood. Just reading the Bible and praying and pleasing god was enough, none of this incel crap. Now I'm too jaded and I can't regain my faith in sky daddy. Don't let this happen to you if you are religious. It will make inceldom harder.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1691330003236573.webp

8. NEETing is not the way

If you KNOW deep down that you deserve to be an incel, you're going to feel more depressed. Forget about your looks. If you're poor, uneducated, stupid, antisocial, and have achieved nothing, then it's obvious why you're an incel and it would be ridiculous to argue that you shouldn't be an incel. Literally nobody wants to deal with poor people, or someone who doesn't have any chance of a good future.

Work out. Learn to code. Self-improve and the sting of inceldom will hurt a little less.

  • Brush up on your skills and improve your CV at uDemy Academy. Alternatively, check your local universities. They usually have short online courses to learn a new coding language, web design, graphic design, and similar skills

  • keep track of your weight and keep a workout diary where you write at the end of each workout. This helps you remember your goals.

  • for the love of god, speak to someone. Keeping all your emotions bottled in will not help. Denying the problem will not help either. You are an incel. Accept it, and then you can finally take steps to either do something about it, or learn good copes if you're fricked. The worst thing is being in limbo and denying your inceldom (claiming you're asexual, you just don't want a gf, you're waiting, nobody's good enough for you) while everything in your life is revealing the obvious. Accept your desires and accept the fact that they are unfulfilled. You are attracted to women, and they are not attracted to you. Simple as that.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16913300018240592.webp

9. Misogyny is not the way either

So here's the thing - women aren't bad for not liking you. If you're honest with yourself, you can probably give a very rational explanation for your inceldom, one which doesn't rely on women being evil. In my case, I'm 5foot2, poor, and uninteresting. I understand what the problem is, and it's not a particularly complicated one.

Spending hours of your life on incels.is or r9k isn't going to make you feel better. It's going to make you feel worse because you'll seethe and feel like a victim. Being sexless and lonely doesn't mean you're a victim.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/16913300020332944.webp

That's all I have for now. I'd like to read what healthy methods you use to cope with inceldom. It's pretty scary as you get older and you realise what godforsaken path you're on ha ha the truth is that it gets worse as you get older and the existential horror only intensifies. You'll never stop crying yourself to sleep or waking up with an aching heart, but you do learn copes lol :wiggle:

EFFORTPOST When whites weren't genocided - The Truth and Reconciliation Commission :marseyflagsouthafrica:

I've been put on lithium for Bipolar Disorder. Apparently it's potentially toxic so I have to take blood samples frequently. My psychiatrist wants me to be hospitalized again but I refused because I don't want to and I don't think I need to. I just admitted I have suicidal ideation but no plans. So long as I don't go manic, I'll still be able to refuse. I'm getting good sleep lately so I don't think a manic episode is coming anytime soon. Shit only gets bad when I only get an hour of sleep and feel fine afterwards. Let's talk a bit about South African history.

Following the end of apartheid in 1994, there were fears that revenge was going to be the norm. Several pieces of writing can be found on this "Swaart gevaar" or "black danger" that would come with democracy. Some whites fled, but many decided to stay and embrace the multicultural society. To help heal the wounds of apartheid, a Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was held. The aim was to air out all the crimes of humanity that occurred. Those who gave honest testimony would be given amnesty while those who were deemed to be politically motivated would face justice. It was also a platform for victims to tell their stories.

Instead of retributive justice, the country turned to restorative justice, which is an approach to justice that personalizes the crime by having the victims and the offenders mediate a restitutive agreement to the satisfaction of each. Victims take an active role in the process. Meanwhile, offenders take meaningful responsibility for their actions, taking the opportunity to right their wrongs and redeem themselves, in their own eyes and in the eyes of the community. This approach is based on a theory of justice that considers crime and wrongdoing to be an offense against an individual or community, rather than the State.

Do you agree with restorative justice, or do you think retribution is superior? Mull over this as we delve into the intricacies of the TRC.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17127697595575178.webp

Reasons for the TRC

It shouldn't need to be stated, but several atrocities occurred during apartheid. This is without considering the several freedom fighters who went "missing". Some of the most tragic incidents are:

  • In 1960, the Sharpeville Massacre occurred, an event that garnered international attention and outrage. When protestors convened outside a police station to protest pass laws, police opened fire and killed 69 people

  • Another notable protest occurred on the 16th of June 1976 when students in Soweto marched to Orlando West Junior Secondary School. Teargas and bullets were released, resulting in fatalities of children. Most famously, Hector Peterson was one of the victims.

Subsequent waves of protests meant that by the end of the year, the government issued an official (although likely underestimated) casualty figure of 575 dead. This was the heyday of apartheid, but it led to complete condemnation from the international community and sanctions were put in place. Eventually, when F.W. de Klerk came into power, apartheid laws were slowly repealed. In 1994, the first democratic election was held and the ANC was voted into power, allowing Nelson Mandela to become president just four years after serving a 27-year prison sentence.

South Africa experiences hope

Americans will be familiar with the metaphor of the melting pot. In South Africa, we have the rainbow nation. When democracy was won, a wave of optimism swept the nation. Along with this came the idea of the prosperous, racially integrated ‘rainbow nation'. The idea became so popular that the rainbow became a shorthand for a nation seeking reconciliation and unity after decades of racial and political tensions.

The TRC consisted of three committees: Human Rights Violations, Amnesty, and Reparation and Rehabilitation. For the first time, the TRC process allowed for the voicing of injustices rendered audible in the public domain, and harrowingly revealed the pain, grief, and trauma that had previously been borne in silence and anonymity by victims and their families. The TRC was also aimed at a restoration of humanity, and comprised a drama of national proportions.

Significantly, however, four kinds of narrative truth were recognised by the TRC:

  • factual – objective, empirical, impartial, legal, forensic

  • social or dialogue – the kinds established by social interaction, discussion and debate

  • subjective – personal memories and experiences

  • reconciliatory – stories about healing that were future-oriented.

The first TRC hearing was held on 15 April 1996 in East London. When Fort Calata's widow, Nomonde, let out a piercing wail on remembering her husband's murder, the entire East London hall, led by Bishop Desmond Tutu, stood up and began singing Senzenima – what have we done? – a chorus to her agony, those present taking on her trauma collectively. (Many who testified to apartheid atrocities were having to ‘speak the unspeakable', and were reduced to conveying their pain in a realm outside of language.) Fort Calata was one of the Cradock Four, a group which included Matthew Goniwe, Sparrow Mkonto and Sicelo Mhlawuli, who were murdered by security operatives in the Eastern Cape in June 1985.

Over 50 public hearings were held over 1888 days, more than 20000 reports/statements on 38000 incidents involving 14000 deaths were taken from victims/survivors (although only about 2000 were heard in the public hearings themselves, i.e. 10%), and 7116 applications were made for amnesty (of which 1167 were granted, i.e.16%). Amnesty could only be applied for in respect of acts committed with the complicity, if not proven approval, of apartheid leaders (e.g. the military, government and security forces) in pursuit of alleged enemies of the state. The Amnesty Committee concluded its work on amnesty applications by perpetrators in May 2001 (3 years after the five-volume TRC report was released in October 1988), but work continues to prosecute those not granted amnesty. Some ex-members of the Security Police and Bureau of Civil Cooperation have been serving prison sentences for murder, illegal arms possession and fraud e.g. Eugene de Kock, the Vlakplaas Commander (known as “Prime Evil” in the media), Dirk Coetzee and Craig Williamson.

Post TRC - Was forgiveness worth it?

Jacob Dlamini's text Native Nostalgia which discusses the possibility of the existence of a nostalgia for a pre-democracy past. In the introduction, Dlamini provides statements from South Africans who reveal a dissatisfaction with post-1994 society and a longing for the past. anxieties surrounding life in the new South Africa have resulted in some portions of the population believing that their survival was more secure during apartheid. Thus, while the arrival of democracy may have brought some hope to South Africa, views of the country's socio-political state after 1994 have led to scepticism regarding the possibility for post-Apartheid prosperity.

These views are exemplified in the case of South African Brandon Huntley who applied for refugee status in Canada, claiming that the government failed to protect him from racially motivated attacks. His lawyer, South African Russell Kaplan, claims that one of Huntley's intentions was to inform the world “what a sickly place South Africa is”.

The biggest setback is the lack of change that followed the TRC. The thing about rainbows is that the colors are separate, which is the case in South Africa. Arial photos taken by Johnny Miller reveal that economic divisions created by Apartheid still stratify the Western Cape. Using a drone, he captures how the segregation is not created by any natural phenomena but instead is caused by the manmade divisions of Apartheid. The photo below is of Lwandle/Nomzamo, a township that was designated for black people by the Group Areas Act of 1950. It was originally built as a low-cost place for workers to live.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17127695407964575.webp

According to a 2011 census, Nomzamo still has a black population of over 90%, revealing that demographics have not changed since 1994 and society is still segregated racially. These racial segregations trace economic lines.

Another photograph taken by Miller features Manenberg. This township was created in 1966 for coloured people after District Six and other areas were declared whites-only regions.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17127695414087746.webp

Like Nomzamo, Manenberg mostly retains its pre-democracy demographics thus over 80% of its residents are coloured. Furthermore, housing continues to be a problem and the widespread poverty breeds crimes and gangs.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Was the TRC a good idea?

  • Was justice served?

  • Would South Africa be better off with a tribunal?

  • Would South Africa be better off with white genocide following the end of apartheid?

  • Did the TRC do anything good or was it just a show to brush away a bloody past?

To end off, I'd like to post an interview with a jail warden who once jailed political prisoners but now works as a tour guide at Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held. Do you think he received justice? Hmmmmm...
