They're doing it God's chosen way (missionary), and she wants to elevate her hips for better leverage. Grabs the closest pillow to throw underneath, which happens to be his.

All of a sudden, buttholes are spreading wide open, poop is smearing rampant across every available surface, and pinkeye is the new COVID.

Short answer: no

Long answer: noooooooooo

Detailed explanation: No, because definitely not.

If they think it's unfeasible (we don't have the tech currently to do it on a large scale) they should at least explain their reasons

No. It's mostly smoke and mirrors. Why are fossil fuel companies so interested in this technology? They use the captured CO2 to extract additional oil from wells. It's just another distraction to avoid the elephant in the room and continue business as usual.

I'm a chemist working on the (electro)conversion of CO2 into economically valuable products. In my opinion, making this process profitable would be the only way to convince big companies to significantly invest in the process. I can tell you that we are far from making the process economically viable

Edit: to clarify, I'm not defending that we should prioritize the economy. I'm saying that that's what policy makers/ big companies prioritize, so it won't happen until the process is profitable, which is far from now. We thus rely on different approaches to mitigate climate change

A sensible comment

Bonus on doomering about millions dying in India during heat waves just a few years from now

https://old.reddit.com/r/climatechange/comments/1ct9dhj/fatal_heat_waves_are_testing_indias_ability_to/?sort=controversial

We are going to have a heat wave combined with power failure that kills millions by the end of the decade.

You get a wet bulb temp weather system that settles over a city for a couple days, and the power system goes down.

The opening chapter of the novel "The Ministry for the Future" is a description of just this scenario, and it is hands down one of the most horrifying things I have ever read.

Yup that chapter was sickeningly realistic

The heat wave deaths are then followed by a massive pandemic as millions of corpses liquefy in the heat. The whole city would be a biohazard for a long time

I just started this book yesterday and this post made me do a double take. I had a moment of like, โ€œwaitโ€ฆthat's too realโ€

An undisclosed Cumbrian hill farm is the location for the first ever positive identification of big cat DNA taken from a carcass.

โ€œTo my right, I saw something black running, and assumed it was a sheepdog,โ€ she said. โ€œThen I did a double take and realised it was a black cat. It ran towards a stone wall, stopped and then jumped the wall. It was big โ€“ the size of a German shepherd dog.โ€

Larkin-Snowden took swabs from the sheep's nose and back and front legs, and they were sent to a laboratory at the University of Warwick which specialises in testing for big cat DNA run by Prof Robin Allaby.

Allaby told BBC Countryfile Magazine they were able to make a positive identification of DNA belonging to a cat from the Panthera genus. This includes five species โ€“ lion, leopard, tiger, jaguar and snow leopard, but only two โ€“ leopard and jaguar โ€“ that have melanistic (black) forms as seen by Larkin-Snowden.

This news follows the 2022 discovery of strands of black animal hair on a barbwire fence in Gloucestershire apparently belonging to a big cat

An Indiana judge ended a yearslong debate between a restauranteur and the county commission that ultimately ruled, โ€œtacos and burritos are Mexican-style sandwiches.โ€

Starting in 2019, Martin Quintana, the owner of Famous Taco, a Mexican-style restaurant that serves made-to-order burritos, tacos and other food items located about 125 miles north of Indianapolis, sought zoning approvals from the Fort Wayne Plan Commission. Quintana's request was to upgrade the space from a single family designation to a limited commercial occupancy for his business, according to the court documents published by local news outlet WISH.

In order to be approved, he would have to agree to a written commitment that highlighted specific restrictions for his business. To be compliant, Quintana's restaurant had to be a โ€œsandwich bar-styleโ€ facility that sold โ€œmade-to-orderโ€ or โ€œSubway-styleโ€ sandwiches. In addition, the commitment excluded fast food restaurant chains like Arby's, McDonald's and Wendy's, the court documents said.

โ€œIt kind of became an argument of... is a taco a sandwich or not. So, we thought it's easier to agree that it fits within the character and scope of what we had anticipated. And so we have an amendment,โ€ Quintana's representatives said in 2022, according to the court documents.

After years of legal proceedings, Judge Craig Bobay of the Allen Superior Court ruled on Monday that Famous Taco was eligible to open and operate its business under the terms of the original written commitment created in 2019. Bobay said that the restaurant was compliant according to the commitment, the court documents said.

โ€œThe Court agrees with Quintana that tacos and burritos are Mexican style-sandwiches, and the original written agreement does not restrict potential restaurants to only American cuisine-styled sandwiches,โ€ Bobay's decision said.

The judge also said that other culturally authentic restaurants would have the opportunity to operate its business under the terms of the written commitment as well.

โ€œThe original written commitment would also permit a restaurant that serves made-to-order Greek gyros, Indian naan wraps, or Vietnamese banh mi if these restaurants complied with the other enumerated conditions,โ€ the judge ruled.

USA TODAY reached out to both Famous Taco and the Fort Wayne Plan Commission attorneys for comment.
