So the anime start with a 14 year old boy and the anime is clearly 18+ for tons of reasons I mention later, so picking such young character makes no justice to the plot. So this boy L tries to kill him self because he is a kitty, but a angel saves him and gives him ability to fly and be fast + arrows, that can make any person he shots fall in love with him and a arrow to kill. So he shots with a love arrow his adopted mom. She start to love him and tells him her husband killed that boys parents to get their home. Than he tells her to kill her self and she does it in a very brutal way. At this moment tv turns on and he sees another guy with an angel, that bangs tons of models by using love arrow and then some power ranger kills him. Then the angel tells the boy that there are 11 people with angels and one of those person will become a god.
Ok at this moment you thinks it’s gonna be some epic death game.
The boy decides to shot girl he love with love arrow but plot twist she shot him first 
that girl plot line is just pure autism. Then the power ranger tries to bait with tons of pseudo intelligence shit that looks super cheap comparing to og death note. Like power ranger force a school girl to become a serial killer and r*pe kill other school girls.
At this point the protagonist becomes a yezus he tells he can’t hurt anyone or kill and they starting thinking how to get rid of power ranger who by this point kills 5/11 angels users. Out of sudden a incel shows up who also gets the power of angels and he start philosophy bs that even after looks max, foids still can spot his bad personality and that love arrow ain’t real love 
Then a gayest anime fights happen where the main protagonist holds the power ranger so someone other kills the power ranger with lmg so our yazus protagonist hands are clear. Than to explain why power ranger who was always smart and cool was so dump they give us explanation that some random guy shot the power ranger with love arrow and told him to be fair.
12/24 episode so mid way the anime kills the only “normal” or interesting character
The rest of episodes are discussion between protagonist and some professor. Is god real ? do people need him and was god first created or human ? This professor talks about fate and tries to kill every angel user so god won’t be resurrected but protagonist shows him power of love and then they decide a emo kid to become the new god. Everyone live happy for 6 year but the emo kid kill him self and everyone dies because God was apparently created first

The main problem with this anime is that the authors know it was shit and tried multiple time change the gender of that anime/manga and every time it got worse and worse and by the end the authors just told frick it, everyone dies and started working on stand up manga

For a anime whose main goal was that suicide is bad, to end on god commit suicide because the authors didn’t know what to do with that manga anymore is peak comedy

I would say that biggest difference is that in this one you have more view point of L than Kira since metropolitianman is like Kira who has access to police/army is smart, tries to become god. Then even that inkwell act like that Kira Simp a lot. Professor is like near so the motifs are clearly very similar. Manga would probably never got adapted if not the game of authors. But they did made couple of continuation of death note and one with trump

Those guys are clearly one style authors since all their good works is mostly about duets. But they created platinum end to pay the bills. Also the stand up manga is also a duet so it’s funny they went from platinum end a death note wannabe to stand up manga a Bakuman wannabe.
Platinum end has to many similarities and motifs as death note to just tell they ain’t related.
Just compare the first and last moment of those anime, kid get super power from godly being, and in the end kid dies.
