Went to ACEN for the first time in years. Their are a LOT more crossplayers than their used to be. And they dress kind of obnoxiously. Before you'd see the occasional male in maid outfit or sailor moon guys which never were really a big deal. But there's some outfits that are meant to evoke the little girl aspect which just looks fricking weird on a grown butt man.
There's also a ton of girls cosplaying as male characters too. There's also a shit ton more furries. How'd they become so mainstream? They used to be reviled by everyone.
The saddest thing I saw was the game room where people were coming all this way only to just sit down and play league by themselves. I can understand playing multiplayer games with other con-goers or any of the arcade cabinets but seriously, league? By yourself? You could do that shit at home.
Going back today but I couldn't really find anything for my preferred series so kinda bummed out about it. I was never much one for the panels so may just end up skipping tomorrow.
Does anyone else go to cons? Have similar experiences? Different? I'm planning to go to comiket this summer too so I want to see how the Japanese otakus do their events compared to weebs.

So far I've not really been impressed with any of the big shows this season. Vinland saga, Heck's paradise and Demon slayer have left me somewhat disappointed after each episode. And yet they continue to rate highly every week in all kinds of polls and rankings. As such I have concluded that everyone other than me have trash taste in anime.

RE was all over the place, it had no focus. I don't remember 80% of things that happened there, because it was throwing new stuff your way all the time. There is like 100 characters, and some of them belong to three opposing factions at the same time. I even forgot what the main villain's motivation, and plan were I just remember he did this:

Honestly I don't think he would. There's an incredibly rare kind of person who can think up such incredibly fricked up stuff but only because they're such a
that it's almost an intellectual exercise for them. The way MiA doesn't remotely sexualise its characters even during things like p-do r*pe makes me think it's just someone writing as grim and realistic as possible, not that they're typing one handed.
I'd put Murakami, Nabokov, and Ian Watson into that group. Probably McCarthy too.
