I've been watching Trigun (the old one). Finished watching SpyX (it took me like a month to watch two eps lol)

Trigun is kino, but I fear I might have watched a lot of fillers. I forget how old anime were 80% fillers...

I think the anime tells a better story than the actual manga. The first couple of episodes end of setting a good pace and tone.

the anime was being made as the manga was being drawn. when the publisher of the manga fell through before it could be finished, nightow wrote down a rough idea of the story and the characters he planned ahead and gave it to the studio, telling them to make what they want of it. that's why the last episodes are all filler. the manga continued as maximum when he found a new publisher.

doesn't make sense that filler is determined as anything that doesn't follow the comics even if it is the story of that show, manga fans are r-slurred.

finished the core stories of higurashi. was a lot better than i expected tbh. if i had to rank them, with the numbers in parentheses being the order i read them in (eg (7) means i read it 7th), it would be:

Watched all of Heck's Paradise, actually way better than I expected. I usually don't care for fantasy swordshit at all, but the fricking pacing was fricking actually great, no filler.

Also watched Suzume. People compare this director's stuff to Ghibli but there isn't the fricking same charm/attention to detail as Ghibli stuff imo (the car animations were fricking sub par) but otherwise visually quite good. Definitely nailed the fricking Ghibli melancholic whimsy.

JJK s2 ep1 thoughts ? Not enough action to judge that part rest of the animation was really good. Was surprised to see /a/ split on it, I expected them to be still against mappa after csm. I wonder where arafumi imai has been used, hopefully its the toji fights

It was pretty good. Can't deny it was well animated, even though I don't care for the new art style. Still have to see a proper fight scene though, which tbh is the only part of the show that matters.
