Mavis Enthusiast I've been feeling up to watching something new.
Nothing coomer please. 
I'd like something scifi themed too. I really enjoyed Aria, Hal, and Time of Eve in the past so something similar to that vibe would be nice. I'd also prefer if it was short. A 12 episode series or a movie would be best. Thanks besties

I love Aria and Girls Last Tour which are technically cute girl shows ig.

Did you finish the Girls' Last Tour manga? Absolute kino.
K-On is a classic for a reason if you haven't watched it. The first season is just good (except for the last episode which is 10/10) but the second is amazing.
Despite not being really chill Nanoha has it's chill parts like most magical girl shows do, and I feel like it can fall into a broad sci-fi category due to kind of spoilery reasons. The third season goes all-in on the sci-fi, and though it definitely peaks in the second season the third isn't bad. Also the cartridge system is dope as frick.
Also Machikado Mazoku fits none of your criteria but I will shill it anywhere.

The anime makes it's way through about 2/3 of the manga, so there's not too much after. The art is gorgeous though, the mangaka drew the whole ED to the anime herself for an idea of her artstyle.

So it wasn't the best show, but it actually had really good near future sci-fi tech stuff. I was impressed with how believble the mild sci-fi aspect was. It also wasn't coomer as far as I remember. It does have some awesome/cringe Engrish which I find really endearing.
But it's not sci-fi. It's just SOL in a kinda sci-fi setting.
It's a solid 6.5/10 imo. First thing that came to mind.
