Luckily, there will be plenty of new animeposts in 2024 too! :marsey:

This week I spontaneously decided to rewatch Toradora, Im a little over halfway through, its still a good show. Apart from that I didnt watch anything, was kinda busy this week.

Anyway, I hope you have a happy new year and dont blow of your own hands with illegal fireworks! And if you do, post pics!

Christmas break means lots of time to watch stuff

  • Finished Rising of the Shield Hero S3. Meh. You can tell the original author had one good idea and no ability to continue it past there

  • Finished Helck. Meh. It had potential but it wasted it on too much backstory and deliberately angling for a second season

  • Finished I Shall Survive Using Potions!, which was comfy and basically what I expected

  • Finished My Daughter Flew The Nest and Returned as an S-Rank Adventurer. Comfy, being predictable isn't always bad

  • Finished The Saint's Magic is Omnipotent S2. Very cute, go get 'em Sei.

  • Finished MF Ghost part 1. I know it's not officially part 1, but it finishes halfway through the second race (third maybe IDK it wasn't interesting enough to care) so it's obviously going to continue. Good car animation, terrible people animation.

  • Finished Spy x Family S2. It was ok, but way more filler and not as good as the previous season despite the character development - when the full series is finished S2 will be entirely optional and probably usually skipped

  • Finished A Girl and Her Guard Dog. Absolutely trash tier, do not watch

  • Finished The Kingdoms of Ruin. Of all the anime I saw this season, this was one. Enjoyable in how bad the plot was, but had absolutely no idea how to properly structure or pace itself

  • Watched Dragon's Heaven. I dozed off at one point and didn't even notice

  • Watched Girlfriend, Girlfriend S2. It continues to be utter trash

  • Watched Interviews with Demi-Humans which is like a less ecchi monster musume. It was ok, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're called Mongoose Kikimora

  • Watched Appare-Ranman. Wish they'd focused on the racing aspect more. Appare was insufferable, they obviously expect you to like him without actually making him likable

  • Watched all of Goblin Slayer S2, it was breddy gud. Not as BRVTAL as the first season but I expected that. I do wish there was more focus on the actual techniques used against the goblins, but such is life

  • Watched all of The Ancient Magus Bride S1, gonna smash out S2 in the new year. Excellent kino, would recommend

  • Watched Berserk of Gluttony which is edgy like KageJitsu, but unironically and isn't good enough to get away with it so in the generic edge bin it goes

  • Watched Burn the Witch #0.8 which was ok, but Balgo (and more genetically the anime focus on ecchi) is absolutely tanking how good it was

  • Picked up Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer In Orange which is good, and I'm glad we're getting a full 2-cour series

  • Started on S2 of The Eminence in Shadow now I can watch the entire thing in one go, very enjoyable trash that's self-aware about what it is. You can tell they had fun making it

  • Started Saga of Tanya the Evil because I've been meaning to get around to it

  • Started S2 of Jujutsu Kaisen now they've finished it and I can binge it

Honestly doubt I'll watch it tbh, the premise was interesting but it's been so utterly mid I'm pretty much done

There's better stuff out there that I can be wasting my time on
