Back in boomer times I was impressing this girl with my knowledge of foreign art house films. (You could actually do that then because Europe, China, and Japan weren't just making shit.)
So I tell her to watch Tykwer's Der Krieger und die Kaiserin. She comes back a couple days later and says it was pretty good but what about the scene at the beginning where she gives her dad a handjob. And I say you just kind of have to tune those things out when you're watching a German movie.
