Dragon Ball is something other than weebshit. Not sure exactly what. But on a spectrum of weebshit to w/e Dragon Ball is I'd put it at the extreme. And Pokemon, Naruto, and Yu-Gi-Oh on the spectrum between weebshit and Dragon Ball

To me it feels as if dragon ball has transcended the genre of anime in a way. It's possible for someone to be considered a fan of dragon ball without being considered a fan of anime which I'm not sure if you can say about any other anime

It's because you can have seen dragonball as just another cartoon when you wuz a kid, just like spider man or gargoyles. Ain't nobody who's seen Horimiya or School Days accidentally.

It's weebshit but it's entry level weebshit, not as egregious as waifu simulators or high school anime. On a related note, I'm surprised its style is still so distinctive, it's so popular that you would have expected more people to rip it off. So much anime looks interchangeable but Toriyama's work is always easy to pick out. I wonder why that is.
