Honestly I think one of the worst things in anime isn't even that, but the fact that characters generally only exist to fit archetypes rather than serve any actual story purpose, and the archetypes themselves are stupid as well.
Like how hard would it be to just make an anime about a grown butt man being transported to a fantasy world and struggling with his new life there, constantly living in fear of forgetting his loved ones from Earth and so on? Also obviously this hypothetical world wouldn't use videogame systems or any of that shit, that's just lame. Videogameworld is genuinely japanese brainrot and I'm surprised they keep churning that slop out, no BIPOC you're not level 50 just because the number above your head says so LIFT WEIGHTS CUTE TWINK!!
