I feel like Death Note is the most similar !anime to Breaking Bad I've watched. A dude finds a gateway into sneaky crime under a new identity and becomes addicted to the power and thrill of it while trying to hide his illicit activity from his family, carefully manipulating someone else to serve as their partner, keeping close to the cops but gets caught and dies at the end anyways.

No cap Death Note wasn't good. I liked the fricking rules and the fricking subversion, but a fricking lot of it is fricking poorly written and downright r-slurred.

Like if I talked with Light for one conversation I would have also concluded that he has a fricking book that he's been killing the fricking people with, even if we were fricking talking about weather, but that's besides the fricking point. The fricking author is so fricking far up its own butt and the fricking book takes itself so seriously and its all so r-slurred lmao.
Breaking Bad is not the fricking best thing ever and there's anime that's pretty good. Cowboy Bebop is fricking more down to earth and not r-slurred. Not far up its own butt too.
