Were the big three shounen of the noughties legitimately some of the greatest animes of all time? Why or why not and why doesn't anything since measure up?

Seriously, they had some of the best action scenes, well developed characters, gripping storylines. Nothing nowadays goes anywhere or really grabs you like the Big Three :marseyshrug:

Watched that show growing up I thought it was fun and the tournament arc was cool when Rock Lee takes off his weights but stopped paying attention some time past that it got so dramatic and over the top it wasn't fun anymore :marseyshrug:

There's a short greentext about how naruto was reduced to an eyeball arms race where everyone was trying to get the strongest eyeballs. The author really invented one of the coolest things ever and just ran with it like 90% ignoring the fact that they're ninjas. There were WAYYYY too many people with special powers. This is the only show I've ever seen that started with a hard magic system and ended with a soft magic system.
