This is literally why we all now know what "Antifa" is — the Trump campaign needed a domestic "terrorist movement" boogeyman to react against, were faced with the reality that White Identity Extremist terrorism was carried out by their voting base, and manufactured "Antifa" into their threat.

Without a "they" that is out to get them, the entire MAGA world view crumbles into dust. If politics is just about electing imperfect people to craft imperfect solutions to problems we can only partially understand, then all of the drama is drained from politics and there's no reason to vote GOP.
