You can't make a space safer for bigots

We aren't.

This subreddit always has been a Safe Space.

That includes it being a safe space from people being falsely accused of being something, in a hurtful fashion.

We moderators have been accused of being the slur. Repeatedly. along with hateful abuse, and death threats.

Just today.

We are human beings.

It might surprise you to discover that we are human beings, and that we aren't allowing people to abuse us.

We shouldn't have to explain that.

But here we are.

Anything that directs to CSAM / CSEM is potentially aiding & abetting distribution of it, & the site in question is blackholed by Reddit.

Report the channel to YouTube, but don't post about it, or abusers will use that to advertise.

It depends on what you're trying to do.

Old.reddit.com is good if the site ever has a comment processing backlog in the middle of a major news event (as happened on the afternoon of July 13 2024) or brigade, because there are separate feeds for new posts & new comments, and a Ban Users page, that don't rely on the page presentation layer — so you can ban brigaders before they and their friends ever see their flamebait posts & comments. It also shows you an easy-to-skim listing of a user's posts & comments if you're sussing out whether they're trolling.

The app is fine for most moderation cases; it shows contexts, usernotes, ban reasons, etc etc etc.

The subreddit was operated by ethno/ecofascists who tried to use the subreddit as an "outer layer" of their operation, to pull in recruits by making themselves look like they were just interested in homesteading, fitness, and "traditional" lifestyles.

Their ecosystem on Reddit was connected to / became the modern "Active club" / "fitness club" movement.

As someone else observed, they also had a 200acres subreddit; they also had 200squarefeet, which went private just over 5 years ago. They operated other, overt White Identity Extremism / Hatred / Violent terrorism espousing subreddits.

comments in the subreddits were 90% mask-on about the nominal topic and 10% White Identity Extremism.

The operators removed all the posts when it was quarantined; Reddit has kept it open and quarantined for their own reasons.
