Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

Voting for POTUS is not a situation involving the Axiom of Choice. You, the person voting, are not choosing Trump or Harris. At the atomic logic level, you are making one of two measurements larger. Everything else you choose (or "don't choose") resolves to one of those two buckets.

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

"But then I am making a choice"

No. In a trolley problem, choice is an illusion.

That seems paradoxical, but it is true.

the POTUS election is a zero-sum determinant reliant on a simplistic statistical representative measurement, beyond the agency of any one person

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

It sucks to realise it, but the Founding Fathers took away our choice w/r/t POTUS elections & locked us into a zero sum first past the post system.

If you don't vote, you make one bucket more than the other

If you vote third party, you make one bucket more than the other

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

Your motives for voting or not voting might or might not translate to policy, but only because of lateral channels and only if the person who gets office doesn't view you as body bag filler

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

(Unintentionally horrible sounding dense statement ahead)

Abdicating moral responsibility for the outcome of the election has already been done to you. By the founders. The only people with moral responsibility are the people who run and the people who sit on SCOTUS to hear challenges

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

Whether you have a moral responsibility to make the tiniest possible atomic level pushback against Trump - is up to you

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

For me, morals and logic and reason and etc do not enter the process. It is entirely pragmatic.

One bucket gets regular government amenable to justice and laws and improvement

One bucket gets me dead. Or a refugee.

You may or may not have a moral obligation to me in specific or general. I Dunno.

Ms. Penny πŸŒ…πŸ§™β™€οΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):

I think I have a moral duty to take a last opportunity to tilt scales someone else set up, towards justice.

And not to abandon that opportunity.
