the frick?

Moderators on Reddit are prohibited from receiving any kind of compensation for moderation actions.

What I did above was remind someone who should know better than to sneer at me, that sneering at me is a one sided activity. Someone who knows better than to believe that I carry water for simple, deceitful narratives; someone who knows that I dig until I get to the truth.

As mentioned above — I don't defend Reddit. I have no financial stake in Reddit. I spent six years pursuing ways to get Reddit Inc to take responsibility and cease being an attractive nuisance, housing violent terrorists.

I come off as pompous and condescending here because people really don't like being told "No", flatly. They want small talk and to be let in.

"No", flatly — is the only conscionable response here. It's what my conscience requires, at this time, under these circumstances.

I love to explain how Reddit works and how Reddit fails. I loathe the people who want to make things fail just to watch them burn.

Someday I'll be glad to explain what's going on with restricting subreddits from flipping from public to private, private to public — and how it has nothing to do with protests.

Until then, I have a duty to tell people, "this isn't what you believe it to be, someone gave you bad directions, this is something you don't want to step in, detours are there, there, there, and there."

People can believe me, or they can sneer at me, or they can disbelieve me. Those are their choices.

Has he ever, even once, just flat no'd anyone? The other guy was right, he's pompous and condescending, and a single 'No' doesn't let him be either of those things.
