Faine Greenwood (@faineg.bsky.social):
You will not have a good time here if you're a transphobe.
You will be hunted for sport.
And I think that's wonderful.
Captain Casey (@cptcasey.bsky.social):
Are there hunting teams? Or is it like solo matchmaking? Either way I'm in.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
There are several moderation labeler services that flag transphobia; there's also countless blocklists.
Captain Casey (@cptcasey.bsky.social):
I love the blocklists built in here!

Anyone can make a blocklist - I have one just for transphobes I've encountered

Tomb-butt Marchant (@godribbon.bsky.social):
How do you actually block a list? I only see the options to subscribe, share, and report
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
You tap / click Subscribe, and it opens to give you the option to either Block or Mute.
That is a little confusing. I should figure out how to submit that suggestion without pinging a developer π

Ohhh, I had to go through this one and the nazi one manually, because there were several names I saw that gave me so much joy to actually go into their profile and hit block. Thank you this was useful!
Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):
Subscribing is the better way, I feel. I do know how satisfying it is to "pop the pimples" one by one, though ^_^

How can I make one?
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
Settings -> Moderation -> Moderation Lists -> + New, then the β¦ menu on a user profile, pick Add to Lists.

Sorry, how can I piggyback on existing lists of fash trolls, transphobes, etc.?
Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):
You can subscribe to lists people make, yeah!

WTH is a left-of-centre Dr Who fan of ALL things doing in with that bunch of rabble
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
I usually keep a set of evidence.
This user referenced has made multiple posts over 7 months referencing "trans activists", stereotyping trans women as violent men, etc.
Being self-described as left-of-center is no guarantee of compassion. Being a Dr Who fan is no guarantee.

is there any way we can report not the list itself, but the people in it as a whole? going through one by one would be a chore, but i'll do it if there's no other way...
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
You shouldn't.
Every person on my transphobia list had some item which was transphobic which I've directly reported.
BlueSky T&S looks for sustained, diverse reports of violations, rather than focused clusters - Violations over multiple items, over time - before suspending an account.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
The lists I run are so people don't have to be burdened, psychically, with the trauma offered by the members.

Tbh I'm still kind of bothered Bsky let's folk like this stay here any longer than they should :o7 I am grateful for the list but, I'd be even happier if they were all gone.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
BlueSky's moderation service uses many layers, because people can sometimes word things badly, they can be misinformed, they can change their views and their hearts.
There's levels of bigotry & harassment the Trust & Safety department absolutely action promptly and permanently for, though.
Captain Casey (@cptcasey.bsky.social):
That's amazing. I also noticed some users tagged with "intolerant" or "impersonation" - I assume these are official tags by Bluesky, not users? Could help make identification easy.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
Yes! Labels are applied by labelers, and everyone using bsky.social hosting are automatically subscribed to the BlueSky moderation labels, & you can adjust what those labels do, in your Preferences

Isaac Rabinovitch (@isaac32767.bsky.social):
The people on your list seem irritating in general, independent of their transphobia. Not surprising, I guess.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
They're on there because they weren't shy or quiet about their bigotry π
I have a whole, boring methodology for determining "is it bigotry" that I won't bore y'all with, but usually there's no question π
Isaac Rabinovitch (@isaac32767.bsky.social):
Does your methodology involve a device that measures eyerolls?
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
Ahah I wish it were that easy
I use ontologies from published literature about labeling intolerance in online text discourses, ranging from sneering & factionalisation, radicalisation, targeted harassment & hate speech.
Isaac Rabinovitch (@isaac32767.bsky.social):
Huh. That actually sounds the opposite of boring.

Interesting. I would agree that based on a quick view of all those profiles that they all deserve blocking, except for one guy that literally has "gay/trans ally" in his bio and maybe 6 posts. My curiousity about why he was on this list brings the whole process into question.
Ms. Penny π π§βοΈ Oaken (@skywitches.net):
You are able to maintain a blocklist for transphobes you encounter, too ^_^ you don't need to trust me. You can copy any part of any of my lists.
He's on the list because he was transphobic towards someone.
Zia (@ziaturtle.bsky.social):
Ok
