People don't transition transactionally to win a sports title. They transition because they need to, for their entire life.

My experience is that would not be fair, either, because humans are bimodal, male and female, & the two modes have some overlap but significant distinction not shared in performance.

As an example - I used to swordfight / fence, amateur. I could hold my own against all 6'+ men in my weight category; I lost 100% of the time to ~5' women, due to the dynamics of the sport. Reach doesn't aid me when mask is an illegal target and all I can target is mask.
