OK. Fun Compare / Contrast.

I was playing around with patching and as I noodled on the keyboard on this patch, I had two Ah-Ha moments

Both of these are the exact same patch

First: The Iconic Bass line of Collective Soul's Shine played back thru a synth patch on Thor Polysonic Synth

The lead synth from Thomas Dolby's She Blinded Me With Science, played back thru the same synth patch

Collective Soul's obviously wasn't done on a synth, and this is a bit more triangle/square wave (maybe too much comb drive) as the distorted sound they got, but it's close.

And then octaves up — She Blinded Me With Science

I don't know that it's a definite thing, but I'd like to think it's a sound designer / sound engineer / musician easter egg, a hidden reference to another work.
