for reference i was always a hardware only guy. i used to do repairs on vintage synths and i also owned a few (namely a Roland Juno-60)

does anybody have experience with just using a MIDI keyboard and various software synths?

The people I talk to, are split between "I captured the MIDI performance and will now pipe it thru my synth patch / DAW" vs "Hardware for live performance b/c 5-9 ms+ latency over USB / 20 ms+ on a wireless connexion"
