I just blocked an account that I previously followed, when the person insisted that AG Garland was the hero of the Trump prosecutions because he (a) obtained "sealed indictments" of Trump in 2021 and then (b) brought in Jack Smith as Special Counsel to "get the evidence". None of that is true.

To be clear, this was on a thread in my account. I'm not going to block people for being deluded on their own threads (but I will block Nazis, anti-LGBTQ bigots, etc. as I find them). If someone comes on my thread and ignores factual debunking and warnings, they will get blocked.

Now I get why I've been blocked by prominent Bluesky users, for mildly pushing back on "their" threads.

If we can't speak freely here, in our little liberal world, we're really screwed.

If anyone thinks that this place won't be a cesspool echo chamber of some sort within six months, they're deluded. I got called "Nelson Chamberlain" earlier today for saying that the country will survive a Trump presidency. Lol comments like that might make me think we aren't strong enough.
