Networked harassment is an activity primarily (though not exclusively) undertaken by people with significant / high tendency to Dark Triad personality aspects.

They're sadists, sociopaths, narcissists, and Machiavellian manipulators.

The trope of the Successful Sociopath is practically a cliché.

Groups that steal & trade nude photos (Non Consensual Intimate Media, NCIM), that traffic in s*x exploitation (human trafficking), & groups that promote fascism (the GOP) thrive specifically because the Dark Triad tendencies of their members / dynamics, are post-hoc rationalised or unrecognised.

They have superficially "normal" social lives, professional lives, public lives — and turn to these groups of networked harassment & exploitation to fill specific, dysfunctional emotional needs they can't otherwise fill, and which they carefully hide from family & career & public.

The only things making it "easy" to spot them is that sociopathic abuse & networked harassment of people based on identity or vulnerability has gone mainstream and has the backing of the politically powerful, which has made them comfortable in unmasking bit by bit.
