I got banned from Twitter a year & a half ago for writing a story about a conservative podcaster friend of Elon that mentioned his obsession w/ underage pregnancy. When I arrived, this place was mostly thousands of users fleeing X after years of being demeaned, threatened & told to kill themselves.

I say years because moderation on Twitter before it was X was also garbage. Jack Dorsey is a giant self-absorbed piece of shit.

As long as social networking exists, people deserve a place to feel safe. That has to be the foundation. Not a "right" to express an "opinion" that is plainly hate speech.

Many people still liked Twitter in '22. Those are the ones who've been joining in droves over the past few weeks. But many others couldn't even sign on w/o their very existence being challenged on a daily basis by stalkers, trolls & rage-baiting newspaper columnists. That isn't happening again.
