in march 2020 that wasn't misinformation yet IIRC; it was a really ridiculous error, but not yet actively deceiving. but right now (and honestly it'll just get worse again soon), if ppl followed cdc for info they'd be receiving a whole bunch of actively misleading info

The gauge I use / used was whether an African-American friend would invoke her parent's wisdom wrt institutional guidance on i.e. air safety / public safety - "IDGAFWTWMSGYABITH".
The next pandemic is likely to be a case of "it's absolutely worse than the media / govt paint it to be"
