Many newfriends are r-slurred and take a minute of hopping and flying around to find a perch if they even try. Most of them just perch nearby and sorta stare at the feeder for a while before flying off because they can't figure it out.
Starlings perch nearby every few days but none of them have tried to eat from the feeder.
