That's a pacu, those guys are omnivorous but they normally eat nuts and berries and plant stuff and such so I'm not sure if he should be eating processed hot dogs.

Also, he should have some other pacu with him so that he isn't stressed.

Can't really see the whole thing but that tank looks like it might not be big enough for him.

Pinging !followers because there isn't an aquariumbros ping group yet.

What size tank do you need to keep one of these?

I'm not sure but just a quick look at fish keeping sites says 200 gal minimum, and another one said 2 gallons per inch of fully grown fish at a minimum.

People who keep super large fish just abuse them. Like look at this tank I saw while looking it up:

Buddy looks like he couldn't even turn around.

The problem is tanks typically have a max depth and height so larger fish cant turn around very well. A standard 50gallon tank is wide, not deep.

I'm not interested in keeping this fish but I build my own tanks

My roomie used to keep an oscar and piranhas in the same tank

The oscar ran that shit lol

We would injure goldfish for feeding (just stick em with a razor so they bleed) and they get viciously murdered once in the tank
