Unironically you talking about getting a dog has pretty much inspired me to get one of my own, not a service dog but just as a faithful friend and occasional hiking companion. I just have a few other things in my life to get settled and then I'll be ready to do it

I would love to get a blue great dane. I love great danes soooo much. They have that world weary look and every single one I have met irl is so kind and yet so regal it just melts my heart.

But I won't get one because we had a bichon when I was young and he was put down when I was 8 because he was too old. My brother and sister were too old to play with me so he was the one I played with the most. I didn't eat for two nights in protest that somehow my parents and my siblings killed him because they were jealous lol. Bastard broke my heart even before I knew what love was. It would kill me to go through it again.
