Why were people so mean and neurotic about you adopting this cat after Eerie died again?

No one was mean per se, but there were some that thought I moved on too fast I guess

but eerie was dying/declining for a long long time so I was already coping and grieving about it for some months beforehand so when it was time I was already at the final stages and ready to love on a new cat
