My orange cat came to my door when he was a kitten. He had an owner but that owner would just leave it outside for most of the day and night, during winter.

So I took him with me when I moved and he's now a little bit overweight and very happy

Things I've noticed about different colored cats:

Oranges are the best hunters by far. If you get a large one they will literally kill rats

Both Calicos I've known would be disarmingly friendly before randomly injuring you

White with black face all super friendly

Solid color are pretty shy and standoffish

Non-orange tabbies are destructive
