I have never undestood the appeal of that guy but I can't say I dislike him in any way- his videos are harmless and the ones I've seen get straight to the point unlike other 'tubers I could mention who spend two hours saying 'Alinity- what a b-word, eh?' in a pretentious Bong accent.

I'm just annoyed that he gets millions of views just sitting in his room talking in front of a computer. Usually gets more views than whatever controversy or thing he is talking about originally did. And because they are just moments from his stream he uploads multiple times a day.
People just love listening to this guy talk...

It's common among many of the longterm youtubers; the one's who've been around for a decade. They have a huge audience they got when there was less on youtube than there is now, and it keeps pushing them to the top of the recommends.
