Can christians be trans? Redditors say YES!

I'm just recently rekindling my relationship with God after years of neglecting him and rebelling. I only know what I know about God and Christianity because I was taught about it a lot when I was young. It was a weird and twisted version of Christianity that I was taught though, so now I have so many questions since I am older. I feel like everyone around me either hates God or believes in a twisted version of him. I came out as trans many years ago, but now I can't help to think that I am sinning in the eyes of God because of what I was taught as a kid. I've been scared to research or find an answer because I know the answers will be very mixed. I just feel lost, and I can't shake any negative feelings about all of this. Am I sinning? Am I giving into temptation? Am I believing something false? There's no middle ground that I can find. I haven't been able to do anything but internalize all of how I'm feeling. Is this path really right in the eyes of God?

Being trans isn't a sin. Be yourself. God does not hate the LGBT community and being LGBT will not condemn you to heck. My advice is to be Christ like, avoid false prophets, and avoid fake Christians. Be kind to others, forgive others, and pray. If you seek Jesus you will find him. Be cautious, those who preach hatred, ignorance, and discrimination are not of God. God is not a tyrant and has nothing but love for you.

this is so fricking far from biblical holy shit.

Matthew 19:11-12

Edit: I'm trying to get the darn Bible bot.

Fine.

11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Matthew 19:11-12

But he said to them, "Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it."

"BUT IT WAS A CASTRATED CHAMBER GUARD"

Considering that it was a response to a disciple asking about adultery and divorce and a castrated guard didn't really fit with the verse since they didn't get married, keep in mind homosexuals were also castrated back then as punishment and it was likely a pre-derived term for a homosexual before Paul invented his own term of the root "man" with the suffix "lying in bed" which was the first known historical usage of that term.

Jesus basically said to accept homosexuals in the Bible. All of the anti-homosexual verses in the New Testament came from Paul, that is the only thing Jesus said that may allude to homosexuality. Despite Paul's letters being placed above the teachings of Jesus when they contridict in church theology, I personally don't place much presedence on Paul's letters in my personal beliefs.

I'm trans and a Christian and do identify with the concept of a Biblical Eunuch.

In terms of the preselected anti-homosexual verses in the Old Testament, the Old Testament laws were thrown out with the coming of Jesus, hence why Christians could eat pork and I would argue that Deuteronomy and Leciticus didn't compose of just spiritual laws (those given by God) but also moral, social and economic laws for ancient Isreal which were added by man as time went on.

In Christianity, the Old Testament laws were basically thrown out with the coming of Jesus,(even Church theology states that because the covenant was fufilled or something, but I think it may just be they eventually got corrupted thoughout the ages with things added, mistranslated, changed) hence why Christians can eat pork. Jesus didn't wash his hands and perform a ritual before eating in one story, because he knew that it wasn't a spiritual law. The prohibition against eating pork was because pigs were viewed as unclean in a desert environment because they can't regulate body heat, so what do they do to keep cool? Roll around in their own filth and in the mud in an attempt to keep themselves cool. Was it ever a sin to eat Pork? No. It was probably against the law since they were viewed as unclean, but I would argue, not all of the laws in those two books, such as the ones on slavery, were spiritual laws.

Considering the Old Testament laws that call crossdressing an "abomination" were thrown out with the coming of Jesus and there was basically a reboot, and Paul isn't Jesus, there is absolutely nothing that Jesus said that prevents Transgender people from being Christian, in fact, it's very likely that there is a verse where Jesus potentially to accept homosexuals if you can accept them.

I like to believe that the "one who can accept it, should accept it" was referring to Paul, who clearly didn't listen to Jesus and lead a lot of Christians astray and associated the religion with a lot of unchristian views and behavior. Remember, Jesus taught to sinners, none of his disciples such as Judas and I would even argue Paul were anyway perfect, they were human.

Jesus eating with sinners doesn't mean that he wanted them to sin. While I'm certain that there is something in mind for homosexuals and the likes in terms of their salvation, I still don't think that Jesus would like them being so.
