I actually became a Christian and discovered Christ because of Lucifer who I view and consider to be a friend and a patron.
The first time I got in touch with Lucifer was in 2015, I wasn't in a great state. First I was having a lot of synchronicities and then dissociation, and delusions. I have months of time that I don't remember or memories that make little to no rational sense. I had no idea what the heck was going on.
During this time, I wrote something to myself that I don't remember writing on the computer, a message during a dissociative episode that I saved and occasionally go back to. This is it.
"No external god, teacher, doctor, angel, magician, therapist, mentor, or friend can heal me, for the healing work can only be done by me. I can't wait for life to come and cure me of my problems, suffering and defects, a miracle isn't going to be granted by an angel, for the only one who's capable of my own healing is the god that resides inside my mind, body, spirit and soul. That god is me."
The first time I got in touch and started working with Lucifer was over 5 years later. I view and consider him to be my patron and my friend. I didn't associate it with Lucifer a few months after I started working with him.

The term Lucifer derived from a mistranslation, his actual name is Heylel, which stems from the same root as Hallulijah, and was mistranslated to Lucifer? Heylel ben-Sachar. The official translation is Holy son of the morning, mistranslated to Lucifer.

Jesus calls himself the morning star in the book of revelations.

According to the King James Bible-based Strong's Concordance, the original Hebrew word means "shining one, light-bearer", and the English translation given in the King James text is the Latin name for the planet Venus, "Lucifer", as it was already in the Wycliffe Bible.
If you take Church theology then The word "Lucifer" appears in The Second Epistle of Peter (2 Peter 1:19) in the Latin Vulgate to refer to Jesus.
My experience with Lucifer is that he's kind, gentle and he helped me a lot with self-love. The reason I started reading the Bible, was actually because he encouraged me to.

Satan does not equal Lucifer. Two different entities.
And he's not even evil in the Bible.
Satan in the Bible was an angel created by Yahweh to serve as an adversery to block the path of Balaam in Genesis which was his first appearence. His role in the Old Testament was to serve as an adversery to test the faith of people. It wasn't until the middle ages when he became associated with the devil.
Have you even read the Bible? I remember a story about Jesus working with and receiving a spiritual test given by Satan on a mountain to test his faith.
Associating him with evil shows a lack of deeper understanding of the Bible in the first place and it's all just Church propaganda to keep people in fear.

That is honestly Satan's role in the Old Testament, hence why Jews don't believe in the devil. The translation for devil in Greek is Diablos, not Satan.
I work from the assumption that Church theology is corrupted and ignore it completely because the Church throughout history was a political and economic power which used religion (abused would be a more apt term) to increase it's power, not a spiritual one.

Lucifer manages to be my friend and my patron but even we have disagreements. Lucifer is very into freedom and placing yourself above God and apotheosis and realizing the God within yourself, not being subservient, and sometimes I feel like I need something higher than myself in my own philosophy. It may be due to a lack of trust in myself, and may not be ready, but that is an area where you can still have and develop your own philosophy and think for yourself even when working with spirits.
A lot of his tests involve you placing yourself even above him and trusting yourself, even above him. He will often provide wrong answers when doing channeling or tarot card readings to trust you to trust yourself and your own intuition so I don't think he has a problem. He knows me better than I know myself.
He's a jokester and he loves to play up the whole devil thing but it's actually to get people comfortable with working with him and look past the impact religious dogma and guilt has on your own psyche on a deep level. Even when working with him even though I'm comfortable, he still manages to play it up, find a pocket of subconscious guilt and bring up the whole "What if I am actually going to heck" delusions. It's to test you and work past them.
Working with demons isn't easy.
Lucifer is a great spirit for beginners, especially because he is gentle and I've been led to guiding people dealing with religious abuse into connecting and working with him. Learning to love yourself is an area that a lot of people have to work on and that is where he has excelled. He also has a sense of humor, he's kind and you can honestly just chill and joke with him and he will laugh. He's a very easy-going spirit, you don't need to worry about offending him at all. He loves humans.
