Sooo, some of you may remember from an hour ago, I was asking about preserving shrooms which was a follow up from my post 2-3 weeks ago about acquiring shrooms.
Anyway, emergency over. Weekend plans back on! Turns out what I picked up were dried shrooms to begin with (why would a plug have fresh shrooms anyway? I have so many questions for past me). I was already busting out my dehydrator when I finally inspected them closer and noticed how hard they are (why yes I do buy drugs without checking them first).
Tbf, I am currently fasting and didn't take any adderall today so pretty understanable.
PS. @CREEPathianHORRORist You meant that I have to eat the dried shrooms raw? Idk man....

So If any of you remember, I was looking to acquire some shrooms like 2-3 weeks ago. Unreliable butt plug (had to attend a family event out of state but got the connect!) had me driving around aimlessly for no darn good reason only to tell me he only had gas (pretty good tbh). But today he came through. Buuuuut I have work so I wont get to it until Saturday.
What do now Dramatards? How to preserve until then?

President Joe Biden's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is pushing to ban menthol cigarettes after it has pressed for safe crack pipe distribution and marijuana reform.
The FDA has pushed its long-awaited ban on menthol cigarettes, which some public health groups believe could help improve black communities and prevent young Americans from smoking cigarettes. Menthol cigarettes are viewed as more addictive than traditional cigarettes.
Tobacco companies have argued that there is no direct link between menthol cigarettes and starting smoking or even increased dependence on cigarettes. Black leaders, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and other similarly minded groups have voiced concerns that a menthol ban could lead to further policing of black communities.
While the Biden administration continues its nanny-state regulating of menthol-flavored cigarettes, it has made controversial moves to increase access to other drug paraphernalia and safe places to use illicit drugs.
In fiscal year 2022, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) began a $30 million grant program to provide funds to nonprofits and local governments to help make drug use safer for addicts. A spokesman for the agency told the Washington Free Beacon that grants would provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and "any illicit substance."
A $5 million grant to New York University and Brown University funded an investigation into if overdoses can be prevented by "safe injection sites" --- or places where drug addicts can use heroin and other illegal drugs and can be revived if they use too much.
Biden has also moved to pardon those convicted of marijuana possession under federal law, urged governors to do the same, and moved to review how marijuana is scheduled under federal law.
Jeffrey Singer, a senior fellow at the libertarian-leaning CATO Institute, wrote Tuesday that the menthol tobacco ban would lead to a stronger black market in cigarettes:
In my comments, I stated that, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, in 2020, 81 percent of Black and 51 percent of Latinx smokers preferred menthol-flavored cigarettes. While the proposed rule is intended to reduce tobacco-related health outcome disparities in Black and Brown communities, a closer look at the data on menthol cigarettes, as well as the European Union's experience with a menthol ban, suggest that the proposed product standard will not work, and will likely foster a black market. Perhaps even worse, the ban might further aggravate criminal justice inequities.
Citing various studies, Singer argued:
Menthol cigarettes "are no more, and perhaps less, harmful than non-menthol cigarettes."
Menthol cigarette smokers have a lower cancer mortality risk than non-menthol cigarette smokers.
Despite the ban focusing on lowering teenage use of cigarettes, 60 percent of teen smokers smoke non-menthol cigarettes.
"Sadly, it appears the menthol‐ban train has already left the station. This means more business opportunities for purveyors of black market products---ranging from illicit drugs to cigars and cigarettes," he added.
"And if history teaches us anything, we can expect to witness many harmful unintended consequences," Singer concluded.

This one is obscure enough that it has only three experiences listed in the erowid experiences vault, but if you were an adult in the mid-20th century you'd probably be very familiar with it.
Meprobamate was first synthesized by a Brit named Frank Berger and his bestie Bernard Ludwig in 1950 while they worked at Carter Products, a pharmaceutical company in the US. The drug was branded as Miltown and was sold as a drug that helped with anxiety, stress, pain, really anything and everything, the implication was that it was kind of a wonder drug, one of the first of its kind in human history, and America loved this shit. Early studies found that it not only soothed the anxious, but it also calmed the psychotic and was promising in the treatment of alcoholism.
The main reason that Meprobomate was so popular was advertising. It was one of the first drugs to be massively advertised to the public. Unfortunately, despite every single publication talking about Meprobamate mentioning the importance of advertising in its spread, I cannot find any archived video ads for the stuff, the best I can find is this depiction of the mass production of the drug, if any of you can find a TV ad for Miltown send it my way.
The drug was a hit with the public, but it was also a hit with the rich and famous. Nowadays we joke about celebrities doing cocaine or heroin but back in the day this was the drug everyone was joking about. Comedian Milton Berle famously, (1950s famously), shilled for Miltown on his show, calling himself 'Uncle Miltown' which is still pretty funny honestly, imagine if Steven Colbert started calling himself Uncle Percocet on every show.
The hype kept rolling into the 60s when the US government brought Carter Products and another company, American Home Products Corporation, to court, alleging that they had conspired to monopolize the tranquilizer market. Which they had! As a result the patent for Meprobamate was given to anyone who wanted it, and off brands of Miltown and Equanil, (that's what American Home Products called it), flourished in the US markets.
As time went on and more research was done it was found that a. this shit was highly addictive even at pretty low doses, and b. it had some pretty nasty side effects. The most concerning thing about the addiction was that it had the potential for what's called 'deadly abstinence', where quitting cold turkey can kill you. Only a few drugs like alcohol have this unfortunate trait with their addictions, so this was not a good look for Meprobamate.
Anyways, what the frick does this drug even do? Most of the discussion on it focuses on its importance in the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the United States, and sure that's cool but if people were getting addicted to this stuff what high were they after?
Mild euphoria, moderately relaxed muscles and sedation, and a bit of pain relief. Again, reports on this stuff are sparse, but from what I can find that was pretty much what you got. The stuff doesnt last long without a higher dosage, and the risk of overdose is always present. It may seem kind of silly that people went crazy for this stuff, but at the same time it kind of makes sense. Thinking about this drug in the context of the 1950s people probably thought that it was amazing. Aldous Huxley said on the topic of the drug that he predicted that other drugs that altered the human consciousness would be developed in the coming years, that Miltown was just the start of it. Looking at it from the perspective of the average joe in 1955 the ability to quell anxiety and move through your ordinary life in a semi-blissful state probably did make you feel like you'd stumbled across the future of humankind, a future where pain and worry were a thing of the past due to the wonderful advances of science. Of course its barely worth mentioning that Huxley's later work in Brave New World would satirize and critique this idea of a drugged society where everyone takes Soma to feel happy, commentary that serves as a fitting bow on the post-war optimism that led to everyone getting high and driving to work.
By 1970 Meprobamate was placed on the controlled substance list in the US. It recently had its marketing authorization withdrawn by the European Union and Canada due to the high risk of serious side effects. Funnily enough Meprobamate has been replaced primarily by Benzos which are facing their own sort of reckoning with respect to addiction and side effects, that snake just loves eating its tail.
You're obviously gonna struggle to get your hands on any Meprobamate nowadays, but there's actually a guide to synthesize it on erowid. One of the only mentions of it on there. So feel free to give that a try, take some, watch some old black and white commercials, and let the mild euphoria of lost optimistic futures wash over you.
Further reading:
As aforementioned there's only three experiences in the erowid vault so I cant really recommend that, instead, if any of you know someone that would have been prescribed this stuff back in the day, go and ask them what it was like and write it down, put it up on erowid or someplace. There's lots of academic work done on Miltown, but what's often lacking in that work is the experience of the individual's that took the drug, and as it stands we're starting to run out of people that would have ever seen a Miltown ad or taken the edge off with a smackerel of Equanil.
Also here's some random paper ads I found for Miltown that are altogether far too small but you gotta take what you can get.
Until next time you alcoholic shitbags

So I went to touch grass (well asphalt) last weekend and got a connect finally. So how does one buy shrooms? Like prices and weights and such? I've only ever gotten weed.
Don't mock me (ok you can but at least answer me!) but what is gas? Plug says he also has. Also, prices/weights (eta: not needed if that's N20 since I'm not interested).
PS. I've been adding blue lotus (well fake blue lotus but it's some kind of lily that has similar if weaker properties) to my bowls and I think it's working!
P.P.S. totes unrelated, what's the street price of adderall?

Hi rDrama!
I was in the process of making an American sTyle New York Style cheesecake and got halfway through before realising I didn't have any Graham Crackers. I was going to venture out of the food dessert I've recently found myself in to look for some but a king rDramanaught told me Britain doesn't have Graham crackers. Why? And what do I do with the rest of the cheesecake in my instant pot?

When I say legalized I mean that there would be an entire legal framework that facilitates and regulates the production and sale of what are normally called "hard" drugs like meth, heroin, cocaine, ect. Feel free to discuss the pros and cons of doing so.

Around a year ago I started engaging in a lot more drug related degeneracy. I'm young, in college, and figured that it was something I wanted to try. I had also been drinking consistently for some time before that and gotten bored of alcohol, so finding something new was appealing. I basically progressed through a bunch of different substances, gradually getting bored of each one.
It started with weed. After around a week of usage I got less and less interested because it made me much less productive and I felt like a cute twink. 99% of the people I know who smoke weed on a regular basis are low functioning r-slurs. Plus, I wanted something more intense. This was when I found LSD, which is probably the drug that has held my interest the longest. At one point last year I was taking two tabs roughly every 1-2 weeks for a couple months. Tried microdosing, sitting in the dark alone, partying, overall great drug. Honestly I feel like I discovered this substance too early, since taking LSD also killed any desire I had to smoke, drink, or take mushrooms like I used to.
Shrooms were basically lower energy acid. Still felt like a bit of a cute twink for using them. The vibes are off, I wanted something more social. That was when I found MDMA, which also held my interest for some time. Started taking it for parties I would go to with friends and it was an excellent time. Fricking while on Molly is also close to life changing. But the next day depression streaks were tiring so I gradually have just stopped using it. I also tried DMT, but I felt like a loser since I had to smoke it with this fricking r-slurred hippie guy. Overall it was cool but not something I'd prefer to repeat. Coke has been my most recent experiment, and I had fun with it for about a week before I lost interest. I also tried opiates once, (unintentionally) meth, and 2CB. All felt relatively mid.
This brings me to today. I currently have access to basically every drug I listed, clean, and for dirt cheap or free. I even have some of each left over. But I literally just have no interest in taking them. Not in a party setting, not chilling with friends, and definitely not alone. I feel like I've gone through all of them, gotten a variety of experiences, and there's nothing really left for me. To be completely honest, LSD absolutely obliterates any other drug I've tried and anytime I try something new I end up comparing it to that, which obviously, it can't. Now, aside from social drinking at parties and an occasional drunk cig I am basically sober. Not because I had a grand revelation about drugs being bad for me, or that I don't have the time for them anymore, or even the negative side affects. I just don't want to anymore. It's boring. Is this relatable to anyone else or am I r-slurred?
And before some r-slur comes in here and says "haha no bro it's because you haven't tried the real shit! meth, heroin, fentanyl, and [inset drug] are where it's at!" First of all, you're simply wrong. I didn't include opiates in this list but I've tried them and they're shit. You realize you're doing poor people drugs right? Meth is for people who can't afford MDMA and opiates are for fat midwesterners. I am convinced that there is not a single drug on this planet that is more "intense" or "better" than some combination of LSD/MDMA, and even if there was, I would probably get bored of it anyway. I literally cannot fathom ruining your life/body/mind for an experience as mediocre as mild opiate euphoria. If you're smart, drugs should always be a cost/benefit analysis, and the idea of shooting up heroin for an experience objectively worse than a $2.50 tab of acid is r-slurred.

I had low expectations of it coming in since all clearnet vendors for (((nootropics))) that actually work feel way too sketchy now. Also the vendor fricked with me and made the package require a signature which made me paranoid. It's not scheduled and not covered by the Analogue Act, but it still fricked with my head.
It has me vibing. Not the greatest stim, but it's better than expected. I tried adrafinil when it was more readily available and it didn't do shit. Maybe this wasn't the best idea to get into since it's making want something stronger, but I think I'm to much of a b-word to use onions now. It's low risk, but I have things going for me now. Namaste
