They mocked the fact that Bojack being an anthropomorphic horse adds absolutely nothing to the plot. Is not a deep meaningful show, is just about a depressed guy, but in a cartoon.

It's a really weird show. On first watch it has just enough to make you think it's funny/memorable but then on a second watch you realize you forgot 80% of the show and some episodes are just flat out boring/unfunny.
Also Alison Brie does the VA work for a Vietnamese woman who marries a dog and later a bull (buffalo)
