If his approach was respectful and non-intrusive, feeling disgust purely because of his age leans into the stereotype that older people's interest is inherently inappropriate, unwanted, or even creepy, which is a form of ageism.
Of course, attraction and relationships involve personal preferences, and someone might simply not be interested in people of a different age group—that's valid.
