Finnegan's Wake is navel gazing excess, Ulysses is peak Joyce.

Thoughts on Ulysses?

I downloaded Ulysses early this weak, was thinking about reading it after finishing Master and Margarita.

It sounds like repeating what everyone else says but it's one of the best novels ever published. It's best to just dive in, try to do a chapter a week if reading it normally is too much.

There's four chapters that will prove very difficult, Calypso (3), Sirens (11), Oxen of the Sun (14), and Penelope (18). Just do your best to push through and try to find a source with annotations and explanations like www.joyceproject.com

Interesting, I might start this week following that pace.
