This isn't a real thing. Straight white men are absolutely not disadvantaged in the SFF publishing marketplace, I promise.

You won't find any evidence of it to cite because there isn't any.

Edit: So far at least 40 people think that straight white men are disadvantaged in SFF publishing. Let's see if anyone tries to explain why they think that while we keep the counter on.

Edit: I stand by these posts. If you are a person who actually thinks straight white males in SFF are now suffering because women and POC and queer folks now have a seat at the table, and are winning awards and selling a lot of books, you are terribly mistaken.

And I find it frankly saddening so many people are under some apparent misapprehension that straight white males are not being treated fairly or are being actively discriminated against by dint of the fact that the genre is now more inclusive of other people.

This is the over-and-over again disproven and discredited idea of the Sad Puppies, a group of misogynist, racist, anti-lgbtq bigots who led a years-long hate campaign against women writers like Ann Leckie and N.K. Jemisin.

And I'm terribly disappointed to find this stupidity finding a foothold in this subreddit.

Me on the other hand care deeply about sexism, so only male authors this year.
