Need any more proof that "cancel culture" is a myth?

No, this is proof that when you have frick-you money and the people trying to cancel you are unhinged lunatics, it doesn't quite work out.

Imagine all the lost drama if Musk never bought Twitter. She definitely would've been banned by now, or would've acted a lot more hesitant to speak her mind.

Yeah at least there are tons of upvoted comments calling them out for being an r-slur

I could just murder someone with no consequences if I had as much money as Rowling; does that mean that murder is legal?

These people are worse than the rightards who say climate change isn't real because it still snows in the winter.

They've been narrated by one person like most audiobooks, but this one is gonna be closer to a radio show with each character voiced by a different actor

watch emma watson and others who publicly hate jkr come back to do this voice acting. I hope they do :marseypraying:

What does rdrama think of full cast audiobooks? I was never around during the era of radio dramas and I think I find it a bit jarring. I like to hear the narrators do the voices.

I don't mind AI audiobooks in theory but I have yet to actually listen to one.

I think audiobooks are sort of underrated as a medium. People who don't read don't bother with them. People who do read think that they're a shitty simulacrum meant to exactly replicate some sort of ideal reading experience, which they are most definitely not.

There are some books I don't think work well as audiobooks, such as Moby Peepee. But I was surprised at how well Swann's Way worked. I think Proust would have approved.

I hate any frivolous things to audiobooks. Any music, sound effects, or even a voice cast is too much. One male narrator for male pov chapters, one woman narrator for woman pov chapters. That's it, the narrators will perform minor voices for the characters in their chapters.

I bike a couple hundred miles in the summer, audiobooks are a necessity for me. Big hobby of mine is to listen to completely awful self-published fantasy books on audible. The completely edgy characters, the books that rip off an anime plot, the obvious self inserts. I can handle huge cringe as an obvious virgin is trying to describe a s*x scene between his self insert and a big breasted bimbo, but I will literally delete the book if I hear a single piece of music.

I haven't done this in a long time though, it's getting harder to find true authors actually writing garbage. Audible has been completely taken over by mediocre AI written books.

I've been listening to a podcast that is basically a modern version of an old radio drama. I have to say, I kind of like the medium. I assume a full cast audio book would be similar. I guess it depends on how much of the actual book is narrator VS spoken dialog.

I don't know, I think I'd rather read.

I was an audience member for Radio Play, which was interesting. Sure the visuals were basic for the in house audience, but they had some great voice talent.

I like comedians doing their own audiobooks, it has always enhanced the experience.

Audio books are for commuters. I prefer short stories so I dont have to think as hard while driving

A few books i've listened to have had multiple readers but i've never listened to a full cast book. I dont think having multiple readers added much for me personally.

Harry Potter already has a huge number of audiobooks by a bunch of different narrators. Why does audible need to get in on the fun (serpico)?

Is there leftoidism in Harry Potter? I know my nieces have seen the films but my brother doesn't allow them to read the books bc they're a waste of time and Johnny Tremain is a better story for the youth.
