It's a good book, just not Ishiguro's strongest and I happen to like Remains of the Day more

Talking about Ishiguro's strongest, where is The Unconsoled?

Red-pill me on The Unconsoled, I'm on a Jap author streak

Ishiguro's writing has a dreamy quality. The Unconsoled takes this to the next level by putting you in a dream for 600 pages. It feels like the summation of a lifetime of work, but in fact it's one of his earliest.

Pro tip: if you're confused, just keep reading. Like a dream, the individual details don't make sense, but the emotions and themes still show through.

Fourth Dune is by far the best Dune. It actually has interesting ideas and not just "cool desert people are exotic and cool".

Paul isn't a good character. He's basically a Christ like figure that makes you go "oh good, a Christ like figure" but doesn't really do very much.

Ensaio sobre a cegueira was the highest rated Pt language book on that list. Most were international literature (russian, english, german, spanish)
